Bah! Montwood (from my hometown of EP) is going to beat Permain and Lewisville (where I currently live and possibly the future HS of my yet to be born children) is gonna beat Trinity. Or likely not. But I can dream, can't I?
umm...yeah..Since when has an EP team made it past the area round in anything other then soccer? keep dreamin'. I'm looking forward to the Trinity-Bowie matchup in the quarterfinals. okay..so maybe it will be Permian-Bowie. I really don't think that the Permian-Trinity rematch will be anything like the last one. If permian wins..it won't be a blowout again. This week I'll be at the Carroll-Cedar Hill game, the Rowlett-Skyline game and the Plano-Mesquite rematch. I hope Cedar Hill stomps Carroll (hey..I can dream too).
I shot a 3a game...navasota needville. Dexter Pratt was unstoppable. Then I did Klein-conroe...fun game. The Saturday I did the scorefest that was Klein Oak-College park. They are all available at chron.com.
Odessa Permian 37 EP Montwood 17 Permian fell behind 0-14 in the first quarter which scared me, but they finally woke up and finished strong. Next up is the highly anticipated re-match with Euless Trinity. ET will be out for revenge BIG TIME, but the game is in Abilene which, if my geography is correct, should give Permian a pretty good home field advantage. IMO the winner of this game will win the State Championship. Should be a helluva game. How did your team do?
Katy led 20-0 at halftime over Madison. Madison gets the ball first in the second half and has a 11:15 (quarters are 12:00 minutes) drive that results in a TD, cutting the lead to 20-8. Katy promptly returns the onsuing kickoff to the Madison 19 and scores two plays later in a 15 second drive. I do believe that is the definition of demoralizing.
I can’t wait for the (inevitable) championship game between Katy and Southlake Carroll. What a game for the ages that should be. Seriously, both of those teams could probably give several Division I-AA college teams a run for their money.
What was that? Katy VS Clements, rematch of the '05 first round game. Katy destroyed us 48-0 but we're not the same...we're better. 13-0 chyeaaaaa
Euless Trinity 38 Odessa Permian 17 I kind of had a feeling about this one. ET was out for blood after the regular season loss to Permian. Wouldn't surprise me if ET went all the way now.
Strake and Highland Park are the only two high schools I care about. Good to see Highland Park is still in it.
