A Florida high school basketball player has been suspended from school and won't be allowed to play again after slamming a referee to the court during a game.

Mason Holland, a senior at DeSoto County High School in Arcadia, Fla., pushed an opposing player from Port Charlotte High as they ran up the floor in a game on Monday night.

When he was called for a technical foul, Holland confronted the referee, pushed him, then grabbed him and tossed him to the floor.

The game was stopped, as Holland was immediately escorted off the court. Port Charlotte was awarded a win by forfeit.

Holland was suspended from school on Tuesday, USA Today reported.

"It was totally unacceptable behavior," DeSoto County coach Joe Sheridan said, according to USA Today. "It was everything we are not, and now we have to recover from that with 12 very, very good boys.

"He'll never play here again," Sheridan said, according to the report. "I've been coaching for 40 years, and I've never experienced anything like that. I'm still in shock."
