true, I still remember how my team got screwed 11th grade. 20 second left we were down by 2, so like a normal team, we intentionally foul. The ref was smoking something and called it a flagrant lol what's worse was when we were trying to argue, he t'd up our coach, giving the other team 4 freethrows and possession.............................
What I get from this whole thread is that you and this kid are idiots. You can have your pride bc they are 'talkin' mess' and just lose respect, your wit, and your cool. Or you can walk away which would probably disrespect them more as it shows they are just not worth it in anyway and you are above that, and then situation done, he is the wrong one. In your opinion, he does wrong, then you retaliate, get in trouble and it was worth it. I can't believe you justified this kid's actions. I don't care what a ref says, its the real world, there are negative people who try to bring you down. Trying to respond and giving their negativity some dignity only brings you down as it has in this situation, you think its justified, he might too, in the end of the day, he might see some jail time and now has been expelled from school. Case closed-Dumb move
I clapped my hands! Good job! A lot of times, referees need to get a beatdown. I'm all for beating up referees, especially NBA referees that always screw with the Rockets. I hate refs!
Kid got lost in the heat of the moment and made a big mistake. Everyone does stupid sh-t in high school. Hope he learns from it.
The ref made the right call, one kid was D'ing him up full court the kid got frustrated and pushed him...that is a technical foul........ Has anyone in this thread ever refereed? I thought everything the guy did was 100% what he was trained to do. Posts in here show me there is nothing common about sense. DD
Im a troll?.. Mane you funny....I just speak my mind cause I know 1st hand sucka....but I guess since you the "reasonable know -it -all " I'll give you a pass...At least it seems that you know it all from your lil laptop lingo....you sir would make a great ref yourself...in that particular situation....
If I'm not mistaken...that aint the only school in America...So now his life is over because of this??....you're the idiot,idiot!...And just walkin away to show they aint worth it sounds like you read that outta a fortune cookie....Yeah he wrong but you dont know what that ref said to him to make him tick like that...I love the whole situation...
I did ref, I reffed for more than 10 years....and yes, you are right, I do know. MANE ! The ref said nothing to him, he was interviewed on ESPN and said he just snapped because the ref Teed him up.....and he did it for the love of basketball. Well, guess he gets to love basketball from the playgrounds, cause any chance he had at success there is probably gone. His father needs to whup up on him and force him down to the coaches office to apologize, then he needs to man up and go see that ref and apologize in person. But, I doubt that happens, his parents probably enable him....which is the root of this problem to begin with. DD
well said Mane...I figured you were a student of the game via textbooks and whistleblowing....U da truf Mane
He should be suspended for the rest of the season. The high school should help him with his anger issues. He deserves a second chance if he corrects his issues. Everyone deserves a second chance. Hopefully this kid can realize what he did was wrong and correct his mistakes.
cool i just wanted to make you feel special lil geek...so many folks seem to look at you for guidance and approval..I just wanna see your thoughts on life in your eyes ...I would imagine its Poindexterish anyway.....But again you da mfing Man Mane...
I have little doubt that the kid thought and has been taught that that is the appropriate way to respond to that situation. As well, I'm sure that his excuse/reasoning for the way he responded should resolve him of any blame, as it's probably worked before in a similar situation. The thing is though, I imagine that the kid actually has had to resort to that level in order to 'defend' himself in situations in the past.
