Im not a fan of mchale at all but im beginning to think (maybe its more hope) that here is a method to the way he handles jeremys pt vs other players. IMO jeremy is too nice and does not have enough of a chip to be the leader that every nba pg needs to be. Maybe mchale figures if lin cant play mad, maybe he could get him mad at his coach and develop that chip on his shoulder. I have seen enough that i think there is genuine affection in their relationship.

Its obvious mchale doesnt trust jeremy, but maybe its not his decisions that mchales the most worried about, maybe he doesnt trust jeremy's leadership qualities. He played with bird, ainge, parish. Guys who played wih a real chip on their shoulders. Jeremy doesnt have that but maybe mchale can coach that out of him.

Well if im wrong, i can at least hope right? :p

I think McHale sees Lin as one young player amongst many on his roster. He likes Lin, but he likes Beverly, too, another young undrafted guy who's hungry to show what he can do. The Rockets have to play aggressively, especially on defense. Jeremy plays very hard and he gets tired, particularly toward the end of games. McHale trusts Beverly about as much as he trusts Lin, which probably ain't much, but when the ball is going to be in Harden's hands, anyway, Bev is a nice option when he wants energy to attack.

This is the same clueless coach that Lowry and Dragic bolted from
He isn't strategic with a method, he led an epic collapse last year
He never credits Lin in his interviews
He's just a straight up hater. I saw the same thing from Keith Smart during the Golden State year

Lowry bolted because he lost his starting spot to a better player? Dragic left because he didn't get a player option? Try again next time

    LOL on the lowry example...

Do you know what that disrespectful little ******* did before he left? He was acting like he had accomplished so much in his NBA career to be in a position to disregard coaching huddles and tell the franchise "Its either him or me." Lowry was just a sour puss that was mad about being outplayed by his backup.

Dragic wasn't resigned due to financial reasons, and that would coincide a lot more with Morey.

Next time stop talking out of your buttocks.

Outside of Harden, everyone else is just a role player in McHale's book. When a role play cannot bring the energy he wants, then he'll replace with the other role player who can. No one can sustain that energy for more than 30 minutes a game, hence the Lin & Bev. usage pattern.

Mchale doesn't know how to coach PGs for sure. Lowry outright hated the dude. Lin does too but is too smart to voice that opinion.

What else goes on in Lin's mind that you can enlighten us all about?

    clueless post of the thread.

people have already covered the lowry and dragic parts, but you're also wrong about his interviews. he gives lin credit all the time when lin actually plays well.

way to be a hater

dragic loved him. and you have absolutely no evidence that lin doesn't love him, so it's a wash.

Lowry had his best numbers under McHale. The Rockets' gameplan around their player weaknesses and strength's more than you think.

Lowry under McHale & Lowry under Casey are TWO different situations. Lowry would be putting up significantly better numbers if he wasn't playing next to the overrated one Rudy Gay.
