    The Astros signed Hidalgo to a 4 year contract with a club option for a 5th year. This is good news as they have him wrapped up through 2005. No financial terms yet.

    Financial terms announced:

    4 years, $32 million with a club option for a 5th that could make the contract worth $45 million.

    A couple of more years like last year and he would be into Manny Ramirez type money. If he continues to produce as he has, 9 million a year will be a bargain (man, I can't believe I just typed that).
