Parker schooled him last night but it is only one game and Parker will not be scoring that many pts in every game and the Spurs will not be shooting 50% in every game.

I still don't know how with all those screens Parker gets not one illegal screen is called. Duncan is always moving when setting his screens and in one screen last night his used his back side to free up Parker.

If you still think the regular season means anything in terms of matching up with teams or beating them, then you have learned nothing from our first round exit.

Regular season is not the end all be all, but it does matter. It brings you confidence, it gives you an idea of what works and what doesn't. But, the postseason is called differently, good coaches bring new wrinkles and ultimately you are right but I don't agree the reg. season means NOTHING.

Bud did look like a coach this year! PJ can coach, just not in the NBA as top dog.

I hate to say it, it's because we do not set enough screens. It's the same reason that Memphis can foul on almost every play and get a no-call. At some point, if you're doing it enough the refs have to decide whether to blow the whistle or let the game play.

Here's what JVG had to say on the topic of fouls...

That quote came from this article, which is actually really interesting and discusses the problem with officiating moving screens.

    http://grantland.com/the-triangle/blow-the-whistle-the-nbas-precarious-officiating-issues/

So, you want to play physical defense and get a lot of no-calls? Then foul on almost every possession like Memphis or Indiana.

You want to set a lot of dodgy screens and get a lot of no-calls? Then set a TON of screens and at some point the refs throw up their hands and only call you on the worst illegal screens.

Reffing is very much about reputation. If you don't have one as a team, they aren't going to cut you a lot of slack.

our superior centre, sg and sf play alone. The spurs play as a team.

the spurs do have the superior pg, we had harden as ours. =/
until both mchale+harden are on the same page of this novel, that's the way things will be. ugh. that should be us playing vs the spurs.

But we didn't struggle against Portland. We led for the majority of those games. Yet we still lost 4 out of 6 games. And the reason was because of ISO ball, lousy defense, careless turnovers, a disengaged superstar, and a failure to execute late in games. That's not a bad matchup. That's the Rockets themselves playing poorly.

Dammit I Agree! I am soooooo sick and tired of people saying that coaching doesn't matter and it's talent that wins games and that simply is not true. Spurs play like a team they have a great plan and they execute really well even without their core. Rockets play iso ball and shoot three's that's not going to cut it in the playoffs.

Did anyone see the Lopez interview from last night? He said the Rockets don't play team ball they play iso ball that's why they beat us. We haven't played team ball since Adelman left. You can have all the talent you want but if you are not playing team ball you are done. Mchale is not that type of coach and we all know it. We are going no where with him, we can get all the Melo's we want but if Mchale doesn't know what to do with them it doesn't make a difference, they won't put any confidence in him and they'll just iso because they are not organized.

The Seattle Seahawks used this tactic to win a Superbowl.
