    Come on dude...

He's been training and waiting for these Olympics for 8 years. He was bred to play ball for his country. He only has this chance ONCE in his LIFETIME. He can go after an NBA championship once a YEAR.

He is a Rocket now...but business can dictate otherwise. He'll ALWAYS be Chinese.

We all here love our Rockets. But come on...why is it hard to understand that one's country is greater than what is form of entertainment?

Wow, looks like calling names and throwing out insults with your keyboard is your way to make your feel more like a man. Why do you feel so inadequate about yourself? If anything you are the one who needs therapy the most.

I swear some people feel like Houston Rockets own Yao Ming. How about, if you/owners don't like what Yao is doing, trade him? I don't think the Houston Rockets are the only team willing to offer Yao Ming the maximum contract  . They pay him alot, yes, but other teams are willing to do it too. They pay him to be a Houston Rocket during the NBA season and give it his all, which I'm sure he does.

It's just tiring to see fans here bring up the "If someone paid me 11million/yr, I'd make that my priority". This is an ignorant statement. First of all, what are you good at that others aren't for someoen to want to pay you? What's your advantage? Why are you unique? Supply and demand people. Again, there are other teams who are willing to pay for Yao Ming's service, whether it be 50games, 82 games or 100 games in a season. Yao Ming gets injured playing basketball, not riding his motorcycle at 100mph through the city at midnight, drunk.

Yao Ming wants to play for China too. Let's hang him.

Take it as you wish, but this is the only way to talk back to the Yao-only fans. Because they are to dumb to understand why we reason with Yao being injured every year.

If it is about his country, then I am happy for him and he should play ball there 24/7. But don't give hope to this organization, and then slam them down every year, because you overplayed and ot a stress fracture. and even after that, he mentions how he let down China........... if anything, he has let down the Rockets organization the most up till now. Show some remorse for that as well!!

You no talk to Yao as bad man. Yao is most probably the goodest good man to ever walk the earth. He is of the likes of the proud eagle who sits atop the highest branch in the tallest tree of goodness and happy time. He watches over the eggs of the world to keep them free of the bad man predators. He is greater than any person or boy could ever imagine.

Well, you made a more reasonable post here. I actually agree with most of what you said there. My problem is with your name calling. I don't give a flying ass to what he said about his priority in public. I don't give a freaking flying ass about the 'remorse' that he showed in front of the media. So does it make me a Yao-only-fan? Can you see how dumb it is to bring up the name calling now? Why are you so insecure to care so much about his 'remorse' anyway?

uhhhhh..... you can only give your best when you are on the court.
Half the time, Yao is injured so stop your crap about backing him up!!
They pay him 11 million to get injured every year??? I don't think so.... go ask every NBA team out there to see if they would keep Yao after he is injured 4 yrs in a row!!!

it has been 3 with us so far.......... first 2 injuries can be justified. what about the last one? STRESS FRACTURE....... now don't tell me you are that dumb not to know how does one get stress fracture.

go read on it first and then come try to make your case. it is a FACT that yao overplayed last year... it is a FACT that he is 7' 6" and should be resting rather than playing almost 365 days of the year. he needs to realize what is more important to him.... NBA!!! or Chinese summer leagues!!

Olympics I can understand. it happens once every 4 yrs, it is huge and he should represent his country. but going there every single summer to play and not rest is ridiculous.

this is what I mean about Yao-only fans...... stop the nonsense!!! this is a HOUSTON ROCKETS fan forum..... go to the hundreds of other Yao-only forums that exist out there..... because over here, the Rockets come first!!

Atleast you tried, humor isn't for everybody.

As far as Yao goes I don't see how he feels any different then most of the players for Team USA. For them this is the one time basketball fans in the US don't distinguish them as playing for the "other guys" and just cheer for them regardless. It has to be a nice feeling knowing you are part of the best team in the world and I don't begrudge Yao for wanting the same thing for himself.

I dont care about his remorse... but go read his comments for China. he is acting like there is nothing left to do in life anymore. uhh hello... you are still a Houston Rocket!!

but oh well.... I am not here to point out what Yao has said even though he says some really debatable things. I am here to say that Yao needs to realize where his priorities lie... he cannot be thinking of being healthy if he plays 365 days out of the year....... and he is 7'6" on top of that.

so there is no reasoning in this... it is simple, stop playing in China every year or else you will be injured every year for the Rockets and as Rocket fans, it is unacceptable to us!!

Olympic gold bigger than NBA title, Bryant says

When I saw the USA team win gold, they were jumping up and down and were sincerely jubilant. They weren't lying when they said the gold meant more than an NBA championship. Don't get bent out of shape on Yao being introspective and asking if his life is over. In the next paragraph he says he knows that is not true. He is just reflecting on life after the Olympics in China.
