I would rather win it without him. But I would rather win it with him than not at all. I think paul George would also be enough to get us over the GSW hump.

LeBron haters, not so subtle Warriors fans, KD/Kobe dick riders frothing at the mouth. They don't want LeBron to win more rings.

Some people here are also delusional. They look at what KD did and still try to win the moral victory by attempting to do it with what we got. **** that. Stack the team as much as you can. KD and GSW set a new precedent. Why are we hamstringing ourselves?

If anything we should be playing now. That’s how great our current team is. Who could account for bad officiating and just going ice cold at the wrong time

I admit that Lebron would be a very good pickup if he is even close to how he is playing right now. However I feel like he is reaching an usage point where his chance of injury is just a matter of time (I’m not wishes for any injuries for him or any other player btw).

    1) He is now approaching 34 years old and by the time the playoffs end would have completed a playoff run with an less than optimal team of his own making.
    2) He will be usage wise, close to if not eclipsing Karl Malone. Karl never got too many major injuried until his last season in Utah and his final NBA season in LA. I’m concerned we’ll see that again.
    3) During this playoff run, even though he has been amazing, he has shown stretches of fatigue in multiple series. True this may be because of his teammates stinking up the joint some games, but it gives me pause.

I hope I’m wrong and that whatever regimen Lebron is doing lets him play consistently well until whenever he decides to retire. I’m just concerned him coming to the Rockets will become more of a Barkley/Pippen situation... and I know Lebron is 10x better then the both of them.

We are sorta like the Warriors after they lost Draymond and a 3-1 lead.

The series was ours but for a better reason than the Warriors. They upgraded with the best scorer in the game. Why can't we go after the best player int he league?

That banner hanging from the rafters will say Rockets 2019 champs that's all matters. Y'all are dumb saying you don't want him, there's only 1 player on our roster we even drafted everyone else was free agent or trade.

the only people on here who don't want lebron are kobe fans masquerading as rockets fans.

i don't see how you could call yourself a rockets fan and not want the best player in the league on your team to play alongside your other 2 top 10 players in the league, when you have to go up against a team with 4 top 15 players in the league.

this is like when peyton manning was rumored to go to the texans and some dummies wanted to stick with matt schaub. lmao

The main reason I want him at this point is because of my kids... mainly my 8 year old son, whose mind would be blown, and who would be so excited.

Me personally... I root for them regardless of who is on the team. I obviously want the best team available.

But it'd be impossible to not note it as "hollow" rings to some extent. They certainly wouldn't feel Hakeem like. I mean if I lived in the Bay Area and was a GSW fan, absolutely I'd be excited about having a dominant team ... but I'd be a fool to not recognize going 73-9 and then adding another top 5 player at the exact position of need which was only possible because of a unique, one time, not going to happen again exponential jump in salary cap ... well it just wouldn't feel as "homegrown" to me.

For me, this probably started with Shaq going to the Lakers. By no means was he the first FA to do something like that. Heck, the Rockets added Clyde Drexler to win their second ring. But the timing of Shaq coincided with my life in my late teens where I started to really really put two and two together regarding competition, rings, competitive balance, market dynamics, etc. But from there to what we have today ... it's just super hollow championships, IMO.

Which is why, blasphemous as it is, I have such enormous respect for Dirk and Duncan and those organizations during those times.

I recognize its a VERY VERY fine line.

Meaning... I wouldn't feel similar if the Rockets added Paul George for example. I mean I'd feel similar, but not to the same extent. It didn't feel the same with adding CP3 either. Heck, it's a Free Agent league. Players change teams, and whether you are adding an important 6th man or another star player... both change the team for the better.... So, again, it's a fine line.

And then, finally, even the dynamic of the season and playoffs would change, to me, for the worst. Add Lebron and there's very very little incentive for me to watch anything before the WCF next year, other than to just watch Lebron play a bit more than I already do. I will of course watch most games anyway, which makes it even more frustrating ... I'll watch, but know in the back of my head ... who really cares, absent a train wreck happening we're all just waiting for one potential 7 game series in May 2019.

I guess it will be interesting to see how Harden adjusts, since Lebron is ball dominant, like Harden, and like CP3.

That's partly true at this point anyway... but it wasn't really coming into this year. Remember, again, this wasn't supposed to work so well this year. Adding a slightly lesser talent ala a Paul George and there is at least some interest to me regarding how it will work...

So to answer the question... ha. Do I want Lebron? Sure. This is the NBA we live in. Lebron takes us over the top... imo. Assuming he and CP3 could stay healthy for 3 more years, there'd be a real shot at winning all 3 of the next 3 rings, or at least 1 or 2.

But if you want to understand the logic behind being lukewarm about it... it's just a feeling thing as noted above.

Honestly, I'm sick of LeBron. It's not really his fault, I just get sick of him being talked about constantly. The media has been talking about LeBron almost nonstop since he was in high school. Even when they are talking about something else (another player or another playoff series, etc) they find ways to change subjects and talk about him- (How is this going to affect LeBron's free agency decision? How would LeBron have done in this situation? Remember what we said about LeBron? That player's game was great.. but it wasn't LeBron great)

All of that said- I am a fan of the Houston Rockets and want them, as a team, to win a championship more than anything. I don't care what players we need to try to get if it means that the Rockets, as a team, have a better chance at competing for and ultimately winning a championship.

Bringing Lebron here would Morey's Mona Lisa. Every little move and salary cap manipulations he's made over the years has prepared him for this moment. If Lebron wants to come here and Morey actually makes it work, to me, it wouldn't feel like "Lebron comes to save the day". It would feel like "Morey has completed his masterpiece". Morey's masterpiece winning a championship is a distinctly Houston Rocket achievement, not "Lebron's championship" to me.

Your concern is fair, but wanted to address this specifically.

Barkley was great for the Rockets but was old and out of shape. He got hurt because he was fat (by his own admission.)

Pippen wasn't washed up though when he came here, he just clashed with the existing personalities. It was a disaster and he quit. He was a big part of a successful Blazers team that nearly defeated the Lakers in the WCF. He was also never as good as Lebron so his decline from his peak obviously made him worse.

It's very likely that we've seen Lebron's best basketball, I agree. If he came here he would not be expected to be playing major minutes in the regular season OR in the playoffs.

    Warriors have no MENTAL TOUGHNESS
They have overwhelming Talent and Refs . . ..

This is stupid. A championship is a championship. Do you think all of the guys that played on those Celtics championships of the '60s feel that it is more or less a Bill Russell chip instead of a Celtics chip?

If there's opinion someone will argue it. There are people who think that earth is flat...

Personally I think Harden (as much as he claims it doesn't) gets caught up in the pressure of the moment. When Lebron comes to a team, he takes over this role. Adding Paul helped alleviate this but since he's the MVP, the pressure still was mainly on him. The media storm is the only thing that would be a negative but this season as a Rocket fan has prepared me mentally for this. I don't live in Houston and I can't speak for others but in Phoenix people trashed the Rockets more then ever. But heavy lies the crown when your #1 and i welcome the hate.

LeBron is the only player in the NBA I would take over Harden, and I have an opportunity to see both on the same team... my favorite team.

    he's polarizing.

as much as there are people who hate him, there are just as many people who kiss the ground he walks on.
