We could be dominate for at least the next 3yrs if we're able to obtain his services. Just noticing some people are less than excited at the possibility of adding the G.O.A.T and I'm just wondering why? What could be the cons of adding LeBron?
Lebron at age 26 or younger - Party! Lebron at age 30 - Excited Lebron at age 33 with at least 5 useful role players - Slightly Excited
Because he only put up 51 points last night, if he did that here, the front page would be plastered with “Lebron couldn’t put up 60”
Because it wouldn't be a Houston Rockets championship, it would be a LeBron James championship. It would be everything LeBron.
we probably have to give up a lot of picks. pretty much we go all in now and give up on the future Brooklyn Nets style. But then again I would rather do this since Harden is no longer young. We have like 2 year window to win it all. might as well try
That is because Lebron is older and cannot and would not post those numbers in the regular season. A lot of Regular season fans here.
I agree with that though, it would not be a Houstonian thing because Lebron, let's face it, is an Akron Ohio kid. He never went to College or High School in Houston or Texas. No ties. Never played here before. Never lived here before (not long term, not that I know of). The only reasons that he is here are beating GSW and Chris Paul. Chris Paul's merit would be getting Lebron here, rather leading us to a Championship by himself. Harden ditto.
Too much attachment to Harden, who came at a time when we had no franchise player and were floundering between 10th and 9th finishes each year. But no matter how much you love Harden, if you love the Rockets more you'll realize we absolutely would have a better chance to win with LeBron. Replace Harden with LeBron this past semi-finals and even with an injured Chris Paul we advance to the finals. LeBron is basically Harden on offense with a little worse 3 point shooting but better post player and a DPOY candidate during the playoffs. You have to have some type of unparalleled homer-ism to think LeBron somehow makes the Rockets worse.
Non of us are getting any younger. Bring Lebron and sign other players to minimum contracts. Otherwise we may never win a championship in the foreseeable future. And the next thing we’ll be talking about is a lottery draft pick and repeat the cycle all over again.
Lebron at 33 is better than Harden will ever be. Not even a question. Dude is the Jordan of his generation.
I still want him, no question about that, I am just saying. But the feeling won't be as good as if Hakeem won us 2 with side kicks.
Yeah, i mean, we gave up two of our last 1st rounders for Lou and in the trade for Chris, i would trade two/three for Lebron without esitation at this point.
This! It wouldn't be Hardens or Chris Paul's championship, it would be LeBrons. A LeBron championship in Houston would feel unearned to me and the public will always see it as LeBron chip. I still see the Miami Championships as LeBron chip. I reflexively call the finals gsw vs LeBron instead of gsw vs clev. We pretty much were 1.5 nicely ref'ed quarters away from a championship this year so maybe next year without LeBron...
Then why talk about it when it hasn't happened yet? If it happens, there would be surely a rush of adrenaline kicked free. Pardon me, if I can't get off on the hypothetical idea of that.
Harden could carry the Rockets in the regular Season Paul and LeBron could sit out and rest for literally weeks at a time and just be fresh for the playoffs Rocket River
Agreed, those Hakeem chips were special but those were different times. The league / players in today’s game are soft. This is the era of super teams. Time to recruit lebron and shove our foot up this regimes arse. They want an unbalanced league I say let’s give it to them!
