Agreed. Rick is too good of a coach for this team to keep losing like this.

Unless JVG is such an incredible coach whose skills dwarf those of Adelman and any other coach in the NBA, Rick will have this team playing well soon.

I just wish we had a decent PG on the bench.

There is that. If Rafer were parked there, we still wouldn't have one.

Definitely agree -- Rick Adelman has a proven track record, that's why he's getting the benefit of doubt. But one cannot doubt at this point that Jeff Van Gundy was definitely underappreciated by both the fans and the Rockets front office. Looking at the way this team is struggling now, especially with how far players like Rafer Alston and Shane Battier have regressed, he really ought to have won coach of the year last year -- especially how he was able to keep the team together after Yao got injured. And all the YOF sentiments aside, it wouldn't be unreasonable that Yao's stats wouldn't have regressed the way they have if JVG was still coaching.

That said, it's no use crying over spilt milk. We've hitched our wagon to Rick Adelman, and we knew beforehand that this wasn't going to be an easy adjustment. Things will get better, and who knows, we might even go on a 15-1 tear at some point. But if there was ever a time to shake things up, coach, now would be that time.

Why wouldn't you be surprised if Yao's stats are where they are now even with JVG? He put up better stats after his injury in March and April than he does now, and he is longer removed from that injury. He's had basically all summer to rest and recuperate. He is completely ineffective at the high post, yet Adelman the fool keeps putting him there. Because Adelman's vision for Yao (F*CKING VLADE DIVAC) and Yao's vision for Yao (what he did last year) are totally different, Yao looks confused and lost at times.

If JVG were still the coach Yao would be putting up the 26/10/3/2 he was putting up in November/December and be in the early MVP debate. Under Adelman he is underachieving, unsure of his role, and playing somewhat hesitantly and looking lost. Adelman is to blame. It is undeniable that he is ruining Yao.

stop this crap about gettinf JVG back!!!

if JVG was coach, he would play the crap out of yao and make him set picks by the 3pt line so he can get dead tired.

and he would make Mcgrady point, SG, SF, etc..... then McGrady would get dead tired as well and end up getting hurt or lose his back again!!!

don't you see it?? Tmac and Yao worked their butts off last year under JVG... so much of it that when playoff time came around, games 4 & 5, TMac was all out of fuel!!

and the role players just camped out by the 3 point line doing nothing!!!

so please cut the crap here..... no JVG period!!!

we need to teach our role players how to play as NBA players... not high school players who rely on one guy to create all the plays and get them open shots!!!

    NO TO JVG!!!!

i just how wishwashy this board is. after we lost to the jazz 99% of the board called for van gundy's head. now we get off to a slow start and everyone is calling for adelman's head. i wonder which coach would satisfy all you fickle people. Rudy T? :D

    BUMP

Hey dudes things got better, and real quick.

Yes, its only one game, but hopefully this serves to instill the self belief back into this team after they had been looking very deflated for awhile now.

4 game roadie now, we will win every one bar the Suns I predict.

come back to TC 10-8, we can go from there...
