Wouldn't it be ironic if Alexander fires Adelman in the middle of the season and lures Van Gundy back to the job. With JVG, I would definitely see us winning some games.

I'm frustrated at the moment but you're right its a long season and things are still shaping up. Adelman is getting a feel for the player and they are getting a feel for him. We might've been deceived by the fast start but this might be the right transition period we need.
Think it's bad now? What if we go from being a middling .500 team to a horrible lottery team? Adelman's coaching is a total failure.
As long as tmac is the leader of this team, no coach can take this team to the next level. Mark my word.
we arent going to be a lottery team. We have no identity right now, but we are going to win games against some weaker teasms. I'd rather we struggle in November/December and get it right, than flame out at the end of the year.
That's an interesting observation; that Gundy took the team/talent as far as it could go. Well never know, but I wonder what last year's coach could have accomplished with this year's team. Probably not much more than this. The Rockets were held back last year due to their weakness at the point and that's the same thing holding them back now.
in general, when you think things can only get better, they won't; but when you think when things cannot get any worse, they will. i predict that we will lose at least 2 more games before we will another one.
So am I. Seriously, i've come to the realization that our late game collapses and loss of big leads last year were simply due to other, more talented teams adjusting to JVG's extremely well-prepared gameplans that got us those big leads in the first place. Once that happened, it wasn't that JVG didn't adjust, he'd already done that before the game even began, it was just that we simply did not have the talent for any secondary adjustments. We were playing over our heads already. We just had to hold on (and most times, we did). At least the players JVG refused to play last year were really out of shape and/or turnover prone. (Though in Kirk's case, i think he was having problems following the extensive scouting reports JVG had prepared, a problem he also had with the Hornets and the similar minded Scott) Rick's lackadasical approach to the game and defense is the LAST thing our soft-minded players need. And his player-coach, "let the player's play" philosophy might work with other teams, but when you're throwing out a lineup with two guys that can't shoot, three that can't dribble, four that can't drive, and five that can't finish strong at the rim, you NEED an extremely stuctured offensive philosophy to produce points. Otherwise, get thos mf'ers OFF the floor and put in guys that CAN create for themselves and others and DO possess an array of offensive moves. With his coaching style, Rick seriously needs to get guys like Scola, Brooks, Snyder, and Francis, who can shoot OR drive, more PT, and take players that are more one dimensional like Chuck and Rafer (and perhaps even "corner-shot" Shane) out of the damn game. It's either that, or plant Yao's ass back in the low post full time, run a million Tracy PnRs, and come to the gym at the crack of dawn every day to figure out a way to win the same way JVG had to. Only, he'll be doing it because he refuses to play our most talented players, instead of simply not having them.
man, I like your way of thinking, very optimistic. But you did say this early. I would expect saying this in after about 30 games, when Rox get a 8-22, and after then RA is fired.
Intertesting!, but you forgot below: Head coach------DNP (gone fishing) Adelman-------------- 0---------------20 years----------
Excellent post. says what I am gonna say. Given all these, the thing we have to decide (Damn, it's not us fans who decide, it's Lex) is, do we have 3 or 4 years to allow RA to shuffle the lineup, implant his Princeton O (or what ever fkin' O) to the team? Do we want to wait until Yao is 33 and Tmac is 34 and Brooks to be his best 28? If, we trade the so-called "soft-duo", could we get a better lineup than 2000-2003's Sacramento QUEENS? After thinking of that, the next move is crystal clear, at least for me, Damn, I am not Lex.
As much as this awful stretch of games is driving me nuts, I think way too many people are freakin' out. Especially about Adelman. He's a great coach and he'll get these guys playing the way he wants, and we'll win. I just wish he would sit Alston. That, more than anything, is making me crazy.
