He's not saying he was "cured" of homosexuality, but that he was never homosexual to begin with and engaged in homosexual behavior in reaction to some other issue. I don't see how that is beyond credibility.
I agree. Whenever i get stressed at work, I go on a meth & gay hooker binge. That don't make me no kind of fairy or nothing.

I think someone engages repeatedly in homosexual behavior to the point that he has to lead a secret life to do it is homosexual. If it is a voluntary choice on a whim why would you go through so much trouble?
because it's impulsive..because it's dangerous. he may have a sexual addiction, born out of the fact that he's made sexuality such a forbidden fruit in his own mind. so he is keeps it all secret...and he doesn't just mix in sex but throws in drugs as well. what's attractive to him is danger...the thrill of it. consider who he is and his background and you could see why that might be. look, i have no idea if the guy is a homosexual. i have no idea if that his default setting. but i think this is taking the choice/genetic argument too far to suggest that the guy has to be a homosexual because he had these drug-laced encounters with a guy.
