Yes, this was a little bit of my point, and one of the reasons I never really got into lost. It's like watching a movie or reading a mystery that never ends...at least if there are some endings to some things (but not everything) it could help. Still think its a great show, though. It's a tough line to walk. With the CSI's for example, they've tried to go the other way, from completely contained shows to contained shows with overriding storylines - which any successfuly show must have, but when you don't like some of those overriding storylines it can sometimes lessen your enjoyment of the contained portion of the show.
I have a feeling that the first ~20 shows of this season will be exactly like these opening ones, with the final ones climaxing with the heroes assembling as a group to face down Sylar. I don't expect self-contained episodes until next year at the earliest, but the shows will probably get more flow to them once more and more characters combine their plots. Evan
I didn't get to catch the latest episode until today. I had a question, click below. Spoiler What exactly happened to the cop when Claire's father and the bald black guy were in that hospital with the cop tied up. He erased something from his memory but I'm not sure what. I thought the bald dude destroyed his ability to read minds but he still can according to the latest episode.
Speculation at this point (doesn't need to be spoiler tagged, since this isn't about an upcoming ep): "Haitian" did the following: -->scanned to see how much the cop (Matt) knew about Sylar -->erased the cop's memory from the past 24 hrs or so -->*unconfirmed* planted subconcious commands to blow off his job (and the fed investigation of Sylar), stay at home with his wife. He *might* have had something to do with the feedback that KO'ed Matt at the convienance store, but that may have just been his powers being overwhelmed by all the emotions. Evan
I read that one of Studio 60's possible downfalls is its enormous budget. I think it's over $2 million an episode.
I wouldn't be surprised if Studio 60 costs more than $2 million an episode. Heroes runs $2.7 million. Somebody asked earlier how many episodes there would be this season. NBC has ordered 22 episodes for the season. ETA: By the way, it may seem like Heroes has longer and more frequent commercial breaks, but, judging by the lengths of the shows, Studio 60 and Heroes have roughly the same amount of time dedicated to commercials.
This is my theory: Spoiler -Born 1962, old enough to be her father. -Remember when Claire's step-dad (Mr. Benette, is it?) said "It'll take 3 something weeks for the Adoptive service to find him."? That's around the explosion time, if I'm not mistaken. Another theory I believe that might have been said is that Mr. Benette and the mysterious guy are looking for the one that can copy people's powers (Peter Petrelli) who they heard about somehow. That's why they took in that Matt guy to see if he was the one, but he wasn't. So they erased his memory of seeing them two. They are looking for Peter because Mr. Benette knows about Sylar's powers and believe it's Peter's powers that can stand against him. About the "Save the Cheerleader" thing, I believe that Sylar will try to convince and try to make his daughter pity him and make her think they can have a "father-daughter" relationship once again. But Sylar's way too evil for that and greedy for power so he kills her. BUT... there is also a chance that Sylar isn't a bad guy... there's been no legit proof that he's been the one doing all the brain taking in any episode. The one who could be the main villain could be a monster called "Uluru", which has appeared on the cover of the "9th Wonders" a few times. Here it is: Holy crap right?
Sorry... I didn't clarify who I was describing in my spoiler (I posted it in a Heroes forum first) and the picture I posted didn't work: Spoiler I was describing Sylar and how he IS Claire's real dad And here is Uluru http://9thwonders.com/gallery/uluru.php
I downloaded all the episodes and just watched the first two episodes back to back. Best show on television since the last season of 24!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Studio 60 about to be cancelled. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,226092,00.html foxnews link, so take it as what its worth.
Another great show is The Nine. I downloaded all the episodes last night and watched them all in a row. Great show. Heroes is awesome too. I watched all the episodes in a row a couple nights back. Incredible show!!! A new episode of Breaking Bonaduce is on tonight. I don't know why I watch it but it's great.
So... anybody want to comment on tonight's episode? Spoiler Is Nicki going to turn out to be a bad guy? If not how will that work out? Will their kid start showing his superpowers? If so when and what? What is that chick going to do to see-in-the-future guy? Anything else?
Needless to say Spoiler Another awesome episode but my DVR stopped right as the girl that is chasing the Indian doctor showed up at the painters house.....so I did not get to see the very very end....any help would be appreciated here. The Cheerleaders suspects now that her dad is hiding something, and Nikki is clearly a bad person who is going to be going darker and darker as she searches for her son. DL is a cool addition, the phase shift thing was neat. Grabbing her heart.....very cool. I can't wait until they all get together and the show gets defined a bit more. I love this show...... DD
The show apparently ran longer than 1 hour...by like a minute and my DVR cut off at the very end...GRRRR !! DD
Thanks for the heads up DD...I'll rush home after class then...thanks! Hmm..I wonder if I can circumvent it by setting my DVR to record Friday Night Lights when I get home (still new to DVR).
Which always gives great hints... Spoiler and what happened when the girl showed up at the painters door? She was told to bring him in by the cheerleaders father. DD
Spoiler It was one of those 'leave you hanging moments' that this show is so good at. He said something like, 'who are you?' and she responded, 'I'm a great admirer of your work' and that was it. The 'comming next week' stuff showed Nicki's kid and Hiro and his friend together at a car on fire and not much else, IIRC. edit: Spoiler I went back and looked. At the moment where mine got cut she says, "may I come in?". They then cut away to Nicki lying on the floor of her place and the indian guy does a voice over where he says, "Evolution is an imperfect and often violent process. Morality looses it's meaning. The question of good and evil reduced to one simple choice; survive or perish." To be continued... The preview shows the junkie and the other guy holding a key, voice over 'every clue has it's meaning'... Mind reader guy and fbi chick entering a house with guns out... the scene with hiro and DL I already described... cuts to flying dude saying 'what if people found out'... cuts to him flying fast... cuts to cheerleader talking to her brother saying 'you can't tell anybody'... the end
Regarding Evil Niki, I can't figure out... Spoiler ... why the hell she would want to frame her husband in the first place. Why go to all that trouble when D.L. would have done the job and brought the money to her. Right now, that makes little sense. Ali Larter's plot line sucks so far. Easily the weakest link of the show at the moment. And regarding Mohinder's girl... Spoiler Did anyone NOT see that coming? I mean, my God, her being a spy was so obvious from the start. BTW, if I hear "Save the cheerleader, save the world" one more time, I might scream. I got it the first time... 3 episodes ago. Give it a rest.
