Dead. Since Sylar (as Nathan) can fly, presumably he killed Nathan and took his power. And since Sylar was telling Claire about how he met a young woman (Candace) who could help him get elected, I assume he killed Nathan prior to the presidential election.
Since P_Hiro was close to escaping, Sylar decided it was more important to stop him than keep up his rouse. I think he was weighing his options before flying off and came to the conclusion that P_Hiro being stopped was most important.
I'd also think Hiro's power would be something extremely desirable for Sylar. Imagine Sylar with the ability to travel through time.
In hindsight, I think you are exactly right. I feel pretty certain that this is the reason Hiro is public enemy number one in the future episode. From the previews we should see where Sylar discovers Hiro's power in tonight's episode. It wouldn't surprise me if he became somewhat obsessed with gaining that power.
I watched the ep again while my brother was watching the recording of it and I think basically Sylar says to Claire that he doesn't care about power as in being President, he just used the position of President to eliminate the competition, ie tricking other specials to take "the cure" and die. But now that he has Claire's power, he has all the power he needs.
I really liked that episode. Extremely "Days of Future Past" with a little Matrix thrown in. I'd almost worry that this alternate timeline Sylar may show up next season even if the current one is killed in this year's finale. You have to give credit - this might be the best television villain in the longest time. He's honestly terrifying. Evan
Good point. Thought tonights episode was lame. Sylar as a villain became a lot more lame if his only reason to turn evil was because his mom pushed him into it. The best villains are the ones that turn evil purely because they are. No motives. Just pure unadulterated bat**** crazy. That and there was really no movement to the story that we didn't already know. P_Hiro is a wuss. Nathan is battling his conscious about the explosion. Peter is the bomb. Claire is being emo about being special. Linderman keeps track of the heroes. That all about sums up tonights ep.
2 questions How did Sylar gain the power to freeze? And how did he unfreeze time when Hiro stopped it?
Syler had the freeze power prior to when he went to the house and killed the young girls parents. If you go back tot he episode where Parkman finds the little girl, one of her parents is frozen solid at the dinner table. It's assumed that he picked up this power prior. As for unfreezing time. I think that Hiro can stop time but eventually it turns into more of a slowing time effect. It means Hiro sees everything in slow motion but others around would probably see Hiro moving very fast or basically unnoticeable. Sylar said he heard Hiro in which he was able to react fast enough to stop Hiro along with Hiro probably wussing out and losing his focus as well.
Good prediction considering what Sylar said tonight. "Maybe I do have the power to become the President." Or something like that
Two things. First, I remember the father being frozen at the table, but was his head also partially cut off? Did he have a power? Secondly, I think Hiro lost his concentration while swinging the sword. As such, he turned off his power. If he has a problem killing Sylar after seeing him kill his mom, how is he going to do it 2 days from then?
Hiro should be like Bill & Ted. He should go into the future, train and become a badass, then come back and kick some major ass.
Well I was correct on the power I just had it on the wrong person. i didn't figure in Molly walker, I just figured the tracker would be Mama Petrelli.
