Claire and her power: super healing. It's obvious that she has a sub-power to go along with it: hyper pain tolerance. The most I've ever seen her do when getting hurt/hurting herself is wince. She's also the only hero who could survive a Sylar brain exam. But what can she really do with her power besides run into a burning train and save some hobos? She really needs some serious martial arts/weapons training to fully realize the badass she could be. Without it she's just a pretty shooting target. As an aside, I was reading a little column by Harry Knowles, the guy who runs aintitcoolnews.com. Now, this is all very fanboi. Apparently he loves the show, and loves Claire. He suggests that if she's a virgin, then any guy who is with her sexually is risking being castrated when her hymen heals itself. Hope she likes one-minute-men.
I dunno about that. Unless I'm crazy, Bennet knows that she has spontaneous regeneration. Yet, look at all the lengths he goes to in order to protect her. Why did the show make such a big deal earlier in the season about saving her from Sylar? I think he's so powerful that she could be vulnerable to him. Someone did suggest a good theory before, however, about her not being vital for the good-guy cause. Peter just needed to come into contact with her to absorb her power. She could die and then he could be the (mostly)invincible guy.
But remember, when she had that stick stuck in her head, she couldn't move and was basically dead. It was only when the coroner removed it that she "came back to life" and healed herself. If Sylar opened her up and took out a chunk of her brain, I don't think she'd be able to recover from that. It seems to me like she can heal but not necessarily regenerate. Like if you cut off her foot she might be able to stick it back on her leg and fuse them back together but if you just took the foot she wouln't be able to grow a new one. So if she needs her brain unimpeded for her powers to work and Sylar took the brain, she's dead.
I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode. It aired in Canada last night. A friend had read some spoilers on another board and tried to tell me. I had to put my fingers in my ears and talk. he did say it was an excellent episode and that it would reveal a pretty good bit about HRG. Some of it even surprising. It really has my interest piqued for tonight!
I finally watched last nights episode...yeah, I know...It was hard not to click on this thread before watching it...I haven't read any of the comments yet...This episode was really good...I liked how Hiro made his decision and man, Simone...c'mon...she was f'n hot, which means, Peters dream isn't correct...As Issac pulls simone away, which you know doesn't happen... Sylar is a bad mofo...Claire standing up to her dad and then Hanah making an appearance with Ted and Matt at HRG's house...I can't wait for tonight...Peter mastering his skills is badass...
I agree tonite's episode looks like it's gonna be awesome! This show is the only thing I look forward to on Mondays.
Maybe literally he's not pulling her away but indirectly he is. Issac was trying to get Simone away from Peter for quite some time. Maybe his dream is more of a showing of how he feels about everyone around him.
yeah i thought i had saw it around the net already and I kept scratching my head I thought they stopped sending pre-air feeds so early because of pirates. (back in the day in college we'd have a watchable copy of the simpsons/futurama 3-4 days before it aired )
sylar doesn't actually take their brain. he just studies it basically. what you should be thinking is more along the lines of, if sylar cut off her head -- then she'd need someone to put it back so she could heal. what are the odds of anyone other than peter realizing that it would need to be in place for her to heal herself?
Spoiler I think it was because the idea was to give the impression that the Haitian kidnapped Claire. They had to make it seem like her dad was bringing her in, and the Haitian shot him and escaped with her. That's why the Haitian had to remove Claire's dad's memory. It will be interesting to see if Claire and her dad ever meet again, because I assume he would be hunting her. Potential for some tear-jerker moments between them in the future. I can't wait to see who the Haitian is actually working for. Maybe Mr. Sulu? I agree, I think it was possibly the best episode yet. Pretty good ending. Where was the wireless girl this whole time?
Spoiler It was a feint in order to deceive the "company". To protect Claire, HRG set up her kidnapping by the Haitian; this way, she'll never, ever face the possibility of vivisection by the company - all at the expense of Claire being separated from her real family. HRG being shot only adds credibility to the deception. That's also why HGR had his memory altered so as to never know the real truth anymore just in case the company attempted any type of memory extraction. It was all done for Claire.
Charred Claire was awesome. This was a great episode, though I only have one question. When the Haitian was asked who he worked for, did he say someone in Claire's life? If so, does that mean someone outside of the company is looking out for her? Meh.
Dang. That episode was pretty intense. I was wondering too where the wireless chick was at, but that last scene between Claire and HRG was a lot to take in. Very moving.
Spoiler I thought he was talking about Nathan Petrelli (her biological father)? I think he will either have ties to him or the Linderman group. Thank you Dark Rhino and Jebus.
