You're welcome. I expressed my opinion on the show. I think the best reason to watch the show is hayden panetierre, the cheerleader, i still cant believe she's the little girl from remember the titans, she grew up fast, and nice. ( and no i'm not one of those weirdo's who thought the olsen twins were hot and couldnt wait for them to turn 18, or was crazy about hilary duff and the other teenie boppers).
wow i didn't know that was her...fast and nice indeed. but yeah, i think it was your negativity regarding every single show u mentioned, not heroes alone, that made you sound so chipper. what DO you like watching, if not any of the aforementioned? i watched the first episode of heroes not expecting much, but the unexpected darkness and complexity have me hooked, along with the fact that superpowers are just freakin cool. oh the cute blondes help too.
Agreed...however, I also seem to find myself enjoying some of the roles and characters of the non-super powered characters like (spoiler tag just in case): Spoiler Hiro's Cubicle Friend Mohinder That Neighbor Girl The FBI Detective that brought in the Telepathic Cop I think that's what makes Heroes so appealing...you really get the sense that these are normal people, and having non-super powered people around as somewhat important characters makes it moreso.
gp, i definitely agree w/ you there. Spoiler part of the complexity of the show revolves around the fact that its not just heroes doin their thing with whatever powers they have, but those who dont play an equally important role in moving the events along rather than just acting as bystanders. The heroes, superpowered or not, are dependant on each other, which is apparent in the way Hiro and his friend go about their journey together. i've been thinking about which power i would pick, if i was one of the characters. teleportation or invincibility? flight or mind reading? i really can't decide.
Spoiler I have the same feeling, they are slowing assembling the team to fight this super powerful villian. I get the feeling that Ali Larter's character power is something similar to the Hulk, she becomes super powerful and filled with rage, that sort of thing. While I love the show, I do wonder what happens after this season, considering this season's story arch seems to be the nuclear explosion/Sylar plots. What worries me is what they do after that, because it's really hard to find problems large enough to really challenge the super powered group, if that's the way they go
Spoiler In alot of ways, Gren...I think that this series should really be a one season series, and that's it.
No bruv, sorry if i was so negative but i liked ugly betty, i just thought for all the pub it was getting it would be just better. I just got into Greys anatomy and my goodness thats a great show, excellent all round IMHO. Maybe i just had big expectations for ugly betty but its doing well with the viewers regardless of what i think. With Heroes, I like the show in terms of having a laugh but i just didnt think it was anything special, but i will most definitely keep watching cos of Hiro? the asian guy and Hayden panetierre. I also just started watching My name is Earl, i think its a class show, absolutely great.
Some of y'all must of caught last nite's episode right? Well here are some my takes on it: Spoiler Last nite episode was the best yet! - the Vegas scenes with Hiro and his friend were hilarious...that's probably what I would be doing if I had Hiro's power - with everyone and everything coming together soon, things are going to get really interesting - for some reason, I really seemed to enjoy the characters taking advantage of their powers, not only what Hiro did in Vegas, but what Claire did to the Quarterback...I guess it shows their human side - It was nice to see Niki's other half come out...hehe - future Hiro is too cool...look at that Katana...and way to end the episode...bah...I can't wait for next week
agreed my favorite part had to be Spoiler when hiro got knocked out by the quick fist tap to the face hahahah that was hilarious
I think the show is somewhat poorly written, but I do like the premise behind it. Makes me further believe that superhero content, in the hands of even a decent writer, always has a huge audience.
Some interesting theories I found online. Keep in mind this is all pure speculation (for the most part). Peter: Spoiler The consensus seems to be that he's like Rogue and can take other people's power. Nathan is the one who can really fly. Peter just mooched off that power by being in close proximity. I believe this theory may be confirmed in next week's episode. (In the preview, I believe we see Peter's eye go all white like the painter's did in the last episode. Is Peter mooching his power?). Also, some people seem to think it's possible that Sylar is Peter's creation, that Sylar is/will be born of Peter's mooching off of Nikki and her evil twin power, thus creating an evil Peter capable of devouring and stealing other superhero powers. Far-fetched, but interesting. DL: Spoiler Nikki's ex-husband and currently in jail. We haven't seen him yet, but apparently, he can teleport. So, both Nikki and DL have powers. Does the kid have 'em, too? Well, he is super-smart, right? Perhaps he's like Brainiac? Claire: Spoiler Save the cheerleader, save the world. Well, maybe not in a literal sense. It's possible that Claire is becoming evil, thus the new Justice League needs to save her from the dark side. We've already seen her try to kill the QB guy. Is this a taste of things to come? Mohinder: Spoiler Is he lucky? Does he defy probability? Things just seem to happen around him. Is he like Longshot from X-Men? Also, everyone assumes his girlfriend/neighbor is working for Claire's father (i.e. she might be evil). Sounds about right. She has no purpose on the show, otherwise. Nikki: Spoiler She's hot. And people are theorizing that her other half is the one with the powers, not her. I've heard telekinesis thrown around as a possible power. Hiro: Spoiler Total badass. Okay, I've got nothing. Sylar: Spoiler The Big Bad Villain of the season. Does he suck brains out and take other people's powers (perhaps like Venom)? Is it possible that the nuke has something to do with him? Could he be SO powerful that someone (like in the government) believes they have no choice but to nuke NYC in order to stop him? (Yeah, sounds a bit far-fetched.)
Did you observe the spiderman-esqe camera angles of New York City? I think they even made reference to spiderman or superman later on in the show.
This is what I think of Ali Landry's character Spoiler She could have that Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde thing going on, where there are two completely different people living in one body, except she doesn't change her image. If you guys watch the anime Naruto, her alter-ego would be the Nine-Tailed fox. Nikki pretty much can't be killed because her awesome alter-ego would not let that happen, like what happened in the earlier episode when she killed those two henchmen. She needs her "evil" self to survive because her real life is pretty screwed up anyway.
Not to quote myself, but the more I think about it, the more this HAS to be true... Spoiler 1) Milo couldn't fly afterwards no matter how hard he tried. 2) It would explain the ending of the episode, where he was not frozen by Hiro's slowing down of time. By being around Hiro, he can use his power, too.
