The difference is that you have to physically GO to the movies, whereas everyone has a TV. Spoiler tags are used for spoilers....it can't be a spoiler if the episode has already aired, can it? DD
AICN.com posted part of an interview with the show creator and TONS of spoilers. (so i will use the spoiler tag here ) Read at your own peril! Spoiler LINK (AICN Questions and comments in RED) The promos tell us that tonight Sylar escapes and comes after Jack Bennet’s family, that Claire Bennet meets her Pyro-esque biological mom (Jessalyn Gilsig), and that we learn the identity of Claire’s biological pop! Everybody seems to think Claire’s real dad is politician Nathan Petrelli. It’s a good theory. Nathan, Matt and Jack are the only three regulars who look old enough to have reasonably fathered a teen, and we know Nathan likes to sleep around. Still, there’s this guy we’ve been hearing about named “Linderman” … We now know there are only 36 people on Chandra Suresh’s List. Two of them married, apparently before their superpowers manifested. The others keep running into each other with alarming frequency. Do the folks on The List all excrete a super-pheromone (or something) that causes them to locate and attract each other? It’s a question I’ve already posed to series mastermind Tim Kring. Speaking of which … **** Ain’t It Cool is in the middle of an email interview with Kring. We were originally going to post the whole thing at once but – because Kring’s first answer touches on tonight’s episode – we’re going to jump the gun and publish the first part of the conversation now: AICN: Ando Masahashi's a young guy; has he accumulated enough vacation time to be out of the office this long? Will there be a discussion of Hiro putting Ando on a sidekick salary? TIM KRING: Ando's and Hiro's employment situation at Yamagoto Industries will be touched upon in episode 14. However, it seems to me that saving the world has overshadowed any petty issues with their jobs. As for the "sidekick" of it all -- I guess I never really looked at him that way. Let me think about that one. Will we learn how Primatech Paper is inhibiting Sylar's powers? When will we learn how Sylar was able to kill Eden from within his cell? They have had him pretty drugged up. That in conjunction with the proximity of the Haitian and Sylar was supposed to be subdued enough to not be able to use his powers. As for Eden, there had originally been a scene that clarified that she was able to distract the Haitian in order to slip into Sylar’s cell. It was our intension that this allowed Sylar the extra power that he needed to overpower Eden. However, I hope it was clear that she killed herself in order to keep Sylar from getting her power. One hears that different writers are responsible to some degree for different characters. Bryan Fuller, for example, is said to have been assigned Claire. Which writers oversee which characters at the moment? This only happened for a couple of scripts. We very soon afterwards reached a point where every writer has written every character. The stories are now divided up on purely ad hoc basis. In an early pilot script, the "big bad" was, if I recall correctly, a superpowered Mideast terrorist who did NOT abscond with the brains of others. Why did you decide to go instead with the superpowered serial killer Sylar? The concept of Sylar as villain was introduced from the very first few minutes of the pilot. He was the "patient zero" that Suresh's father had gone looking for (and subsequently been murdered by). And in the pilot, Suresh finds a cassette tape on the floor of his father's ransacked apartment with the name "Sylar" written on it. In episode two we hear that tape and realize that Sylar is evil. Sylar was planned from the very beginning to be a tangential threat to our Heroes - His story line was planned to run concurrently with the idea of the prophecy of the apocalyptic doom for New York. The terrorist's role in the story has now been replaced by Ted, the radioactive man - NOT Sylar. Also in an early version of the pilot, Isaac cuts off his own hand. Was this element eliminated because of the expense of erasing a piece of Santiago Cabrera’s anatomy every week, or was there more to it? Once I realized how tight the chronology of the show was going to be, I got cold feet about it. In other words, each episode, at least for the first dozen, would pick up almost immediately where the last had left off. We were going to sew the hand back on, but I just felt that an injury of this magnitude would overwhelm the character's storyline. In reality he'd have to spend weeks in the hospital. So we dropped the idea. What were you up to with all that eclipse business in the pilot? Were you using it as a storytelling device to tie all the characters together, or were you thinking in the early going that the eclipse might somehow have triggered all these superpowers? An eclipse is a powerful image that has captivated us as a species since the dawn of man. There is power and mystery and awe in it. However, the eclipse in Heroes was never meant to trigger the superpowers. It was, as you say, a unifying global event that worked thematically with telling stories from around the world. But stay tuned, the eclipse just may have a little more significance than that. to be continued … ***** Finally, NBC was good enough to provide plotlines for all the episodes airing during February sweeps. I disagree...Just because it was aired, doesn't mean everyone watched it...They may have Tivo'd it and will watch it later...That's just me... They show Heroes at the Angelika theater off of Mockingbird, for free...Pretty cool...Now, if I can find a place like this that shows 24, then i'd be golden...Hell, I may have to Tivo 24 and go watch Heroes in the theater...
Again. Let's say you can't watch it tonight and TIVO it. You come home, know it has aired, and see new posts in this thread. What do you think the new posts are regarding? Do you expect people to still be talking about LAST WEEK's episode? You KNOW there's going to be discussion about the episode you TIVOed so you KNOW that you shouldn't read if if you don't want to know what happened. If you couldn't watch a Rockets game and wanted to come home and watch the midnight replay without knowing the results before hand, you wouldn't listen to the radio or watch ESPN or anything like that. And you wouldn't come here and click on the game thread. This really isn't any different.
Agreed 100%. If I don't watch it live, then I have enough sense not to click this thread. I expect that the discussions here are going to be about the episode. No offense to anyone in particular but if you don't have enough sense to realize that talk in this thread on Monday night/ Tuesday Morning is going to be about the latest episode, then you probably deserve to have it spoiled for you. I will come here now and make a stand. No longer will I use the spoiler tag in discussions about an episode that has aired. If you don't want to see info on aired epi's then don't read this thread, or you can put me on ignore. I will, however, continue to use the spoiler tag for info deemed to be future continent. This will include confirmed and unconfirmed rumors, as well as, theories and released information. I will preface such spoilers with a label of its content type.
What an outstanding episode !! The lines are being drawn....good vs evil...... Throwing Peter off the roof....WOW !!! I love this show.....and then seeing who the father of Claire is......I kind of thought that was who it was...but seeing it.....cool. DD
Based on what Xerobull posted above... Warning: spoiler! Spoiler It looks like Ando might be a goner. He's not listed as a guest star in the Feb. 26th episode (the one after the episode in which "blood is spilled"). Maybe he'll make it (he is in Peter's dream, after all), but I'm not so sure. Bummer.
Well, someone has to be powerful enough to fight with Sylar... but there's an issue there with the two of them. You can't have omnipotent characters running around with no weaknesses.
True. Sylar and Peter are kind of the same. They both absorb/learn other peoples powers, just by different means.
It was a good show and moved the plot along fairly well. I find myself watching the clock and wishing that it was longer. With so many characters, it's hard to move things along in a timely manner while giving them enough screen time. Luckily my favorites all got screen time last night. Unlike many people, I like the whole Nikki/Jessica thing. Sylar is a great villain and the invisible man has a great f-it personality. Was anyone else hoping Claire's mom and her annoying dog would get offed last night? Oh well...maybe she will go nuts from so many mindwhipes and they will write her out of the show. I want to call this show my favorite, but it seems like there is a scene in every episode where the acting just stinks, which keeps me from absolutely loving it. Last night the entire Hiro family interaction just seemed forced and fake and lowbrow. Hopefully this trend will straighten itself out as the actors become more comfortable with their characters.
No you weren't the only one. Oh well thems the breaks. Curious to see how Jessica Nikki's story line plays out now that Nikki's taken over Overall very good episode!
Really??? My wife and I both felt independently that the show has REALLY lost a lot of momentum. I feel that virtually nothing happened last night. The whole thing with Hiro's family seemed like a complete waste of screen-time. Nikki's story still sucks. Sylar escapes, but conveniently decides not to kill any major characters. I don't know... I was more annoyed last night than anything else. The only things to like were Peter learning more about his ability and revealing Claire's father, but my wife and I had already decided it must be Nathan anyway.
Well from the promos, it seemed like it was going to be Nathan because he's the only guy who we've seen roll up his sleeves like that. The thing I'm wondering now is did Nathan know about his powers 15 years ago because it seems like he discovered them the first time when the accident happened and he flew out of the car by reflex.
When Nathan discovered his powers is kind of sketchy. I had the same thought...if he had discovered them recently, then he had been practicing in secret, because he really took off when HRG and the Hatian had him cornered in Vegas (although his landing looked sloppy).
I thought it was established that he discovered them the night of the car crash with his wife. It's part of why he's so ashamed of his ability. It's February, which means things will pick up for the next 3 episodes. We should be getting confrontations and showdowns soon. Evan
So true, the teaser for next weeks episode kind of hinted that anyone of the characters could be in peril, killed off maybe, with that "no one is safe" line.
Christopher Eccleston as Claude is awesome, I hope he becomes a regular on the show. I had never seen Doctor Who before, which I think is what made him famous in the UK, but I remember reading he was a candidate for The Scarecrow in Batman Begins. Anyways, I didn't know that Issac was still working with HRG, it seemed like his mind was wiped or something when he talked about being at a rehab clinic in Texas. The other interesting tidbit is that Claude (the invisible man) is connected to Primatech and I wonder just how long HRG and his boys have been in business.
