No, they are meant as show enhancers, like explaining characters a little better, backstory wise etc, that won't be explained in the real episodes. Like they show Nikki in the robbery, and they show the girl helping the glasses guy, and they show DA and how he got out of jail.....lots of stuff that is in between the story line... I loved em. DD
Not a ton of new information to advance the plot this episode. I guess that's what you would expect after last week was such a boiling point for the show. Spoiler I guess we knew/suspected that Sylar could steal other people's powers, but does that mean he has 2 powers initially? It seems he can "diagnose" people and things, and also that he can steal people's abilities. Do we know any more about this that I'm just not remembering?
I thought that was an extremely enjoyable episode. Confirmed a bunch of things, especially about Sylar. I'm pretty happy that there's one more episode for the fall run - I've thought the past two were going to be it. Bonus! I also think Nora's a lot cuter with the shoulder length hair. Nathan probably should have hit the gas pedal - I doubt the SUV would be able to outrun his sports car... Evan
I love this show !!! Spoiler I was dissapointed that Hiro could not save the girl, she was cute, and I loved her power of being able to remember anything. The birth of Sylar was a big moment and I did like how they gave a ton of backstory on a lot of the characters, very important for future set ups. Also, read the graphic novels, they help fill in the backstory too. DD
It's a break until January. Lots of shows are going to this format, including the other great sci-fi show, Battlestar Galactica. Spoiler I loved how Hiro said, "Great Scott!" and how they mentioned Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. This show pushes all the right geek buttons.
Spoiler It appears Sylar is a technopath like Micah. He steals powers through some type of machine/process he has devised.
This was the best episode so far. I'm pretty sure I haven't missed an episode, but how did Hiro and his buddy reach Texas? I remember they were in Vegas, but then the next week they were in Texas.
they got in touch with Peter and he told them to go to the high school in Odessa to save teh cheerleader.
Actually, when Peter called they were already in Texas. I think they were driving from Las Vegas to NYC and that's why they were in Midland or something.
Sylar's power explained, and who's going to die next episode: Spoiler Sylar's power is that he can see things that are 'broken' and by understanding it, he can alter his genetics to copy it. The telekinetic didn't want his power, Sylar saw he was broken so he took it. In the future, he does the same to Isaac, who need heroin to use his power. He took it from charlie, who had a clot in her brain. He wanted it from Claire, who wasn't ready to accept her power, (then again, maybe he couldn't recognize it in her because she has now accepted it) He couldn't take it from Peter because he's accepted his power Same for Hiro Next episode, my money's on Isaac to kick it
I loved this episode...A lot of good filler info...Don't forget about the Sci-fi Heroes marathon... Spoiler I'm still wondering about Syler and how he gets peoples powers...How did he get Brian's powers after he killed him...what does he do with the brains? anywho, the car crash was weird and still don't know how/why he floated away...I wish Hiro would have saved her, but understand why he can't...Hell, if I was Nikki, I wouild have kept the check...
this episode was about everyone discovering their powers accidently. Nathan probably just had a thought about getting out, and suddenly started to float. he had no idea how to control it.
I would like to thank nyquil for using the spoiler feature well, unlike 80% of this bbs. Honestly, thanks. Evan
no problem, Cheerleader's power explained, slightly disturbing Spoiler she's a virgin, hymen's break, for her it heals. That's why her adoptive father wants to keep her a secret. She's the perfect girl. HIGH FIVE!!!
I can't wait to see how this show continues. The creator already written a base story line for the next five years, I just hope NBC doesn't do something stupid and drop it before the series is complete.
