I read something, not sure if I'm remembering it right, NBC tried to get the showrunner to tack on a season ending to an episode but he wouldn't do it and is picketing with the writers. So the way the eps are set now, there is no proper ending to the season filmed.
Yeah I have seen some similar rumors saying they asked the crew to re-film the end of episode 11 so that if the strike was prolonged they could run that and tie up most of the loose ends from the first half of the season. I'm not sure how valid the rumors are but the last writers strike lasted something like 22 weeks so we could be in for a long strike.
Actually from some of the stuff I had read; this season was supposed to be broken down into 2 sections. One that ended nicely around Christmas (the virus), I think with episode 13. And another for the second half of the season. Episode 13 would introduce the "cliffhanger" for the episodes in Spring 2008 (My guess is it would be Sylar and Maya). I think the plan with the looming strike was to get everything tied up in episode 11 (they had already shot up to that point), but if Oski's info is right then that looks to not be the case. We may be looking at it cutting off at episode 11 and not picking back up until the strike is over.
The last strike ended because the writers started giving up, so things look grim IMHO because the writers relented on the 2 cent bump on DVD residuels but still asked for some kind of cut for downloads and online streaming but the studios/producers were not having it.
Not sure about peter killing Sulu- but I am sure that Matt's dad is the one that "attacked" Peter's mom. They even said her wounds were self-inflicted. He messed her mind up and she hurt herself.
This basically my understanding as well. They were saying in the summer that they weren't going to do a 24 episode single season culminating with 24, because it's too hard to live up to expectations if you build up that much. So we were going to have the fall be it's own 11-episode season, though ending with the prelude to the spring season's issue. Origins was going to be the third mini-story, but that's officially canned. I don't think it'll matter much, they aren't cutting "Generations" off mid-story, that still gets wrapped up. We just have a longer wait for the next story to pick up. Maybe it ends as a cliffhanger, but that's no different than many season endings. Evan
I don't think so. She said that to the police so they'd drop the investigation. If I remember right she refused flatly to talk about who attacked her, even to Nathan. I think she knows it was Peter.
Than why the shattered mirror in the room? I took that as an invisible attacker busting away as Matt and Nathan came in. I don't know anything for sure either, but I was already fixating on an "evil" Peter killing Sulu (flying powers) and attacking the mom (lights flickering, etc, seemed like a multi-power). Hopefully it gets cleared up in the next few episodes. Evan
How else would they die? Unless they cut the head off, when they die they'll just come back to life. You could cut off all of their limbs for torture though.
Is that due to the strike or was this something that was said before. I had not heard about that before now.
they had the original ending set for this arc, but they remade the ending to tie up more lose ends since it looks like this will be the end of the season. sucks...
Highlanders is an incorrect term. Highlander referred to Connor (and Duncan) Macleod because they were from the highlands of Scotland. The immortals were simply the immortals. And they died all the time. They just came back to life.
Thanks for the answer! I have too many questions, you're probably too busy, and I'm tired of padding my post count about unrelated topics! Wikipedia here I come!
If you want to make a topic about Highlander go ahead and I'll answer any question you have. I was a big Highlander geek growing up.
Highlander (the original movie) was an awesome flick, saddled with the worst female lead in the history of cinema, and subsequently cursed by God-knows-how-many unmentionable 'sequels'. Never watched the tv series. But the original concept was an interesting one; I have always had a fondness for stories of immortal (or extremely long-lived) characters such as any of the Vampire Lestat novels, or even Rice's The Mummy.. I am wondering just how much emphasis they will ultimately place on this aspect in heroes, with 'Adam/Kensei' and Claire (and presumably now Peter as well) all being apparently 'immortal', for all practical purposes. Something tells me that getting a mutant 'super-self-healing' gene anywhere NEAR a deadly virus could turn out to be an extremely bad idea... nothing like creating an impossible-to-kill virus..
Just watched the DVR episode from Monday, I LOVE THIS SHOW. I don't think it was Peter who attacked her, but more than likely the invisible man. DD
Am I the only one curious about what Momma Petrelli's power is? From the graphic novel . . . . pappa Petrelli should not have had any powers. or none they demonstrated Rocket River
Better episode but I'm still pissed with them going with the "end of the world" story from another angle (virus instead of bomb). Please be creative....
