That omission was conspicuous by its absence. In other words, she only reveals 'It's my assignment!' and 'Ok Daddy.' as clues. This does not necessarily imply that she works for THAT 'Company'. That company never struck me as 'evil' so much as rather brutal in an antiseptic sort of way, where the 'ends justify the means', for sure, but not overtly evil, which is implied by the girl's unflinching and almost cheerful admission of 'killing some guy'. I am thinking they are two separate entities. Another neat thing, too, is the glimpse of next week in the previews, where Sylar apparently has some kind of revealing tussle with the Black Death Twins. Can't wait! 'When I get my powers back, I'm going to kill you.' Heeeeee...
I agree. More Sylar = better episodes. But I did notice he said it to the one who doesnt speak any english...
When the guys at the pub asked her why she was looking for Peter, she said she worked for "a company". My assumption was that she is the daughter of the guy who runs the company (don't know his name). Y'all are being way too impatient with Monica. Every hero has to go through their self-discovery process. We'll just have to wait for the story to develop, and it looks like that will happen sooner rather than later (now that the company has sent Suresh to get her). And man she's beautiful. I keep getting this feeling that Kensei has something to do with the killings. Perhaps his powers are much more than just invincibility -- what if he is immortal and maybe even more? The symbol on the pictures is his, and from the previews last week I got the sense that he's going to go rogue at some point and Hiro's going to have to fight him to save the world.
The more I have been reading this Kensei theory about him being behind the killings the more I a starting to believe it. It just makes the most sense b/c you are right, if he can heal himself than that would make him immortal (or maybe he can just expand his powers, the way Parkman's dad did w/ his mind reading ability) and he IS the "oldest" of all of the people in the show w/ powers (and as u pointed out earlier he too had the symbol! around his neck?)
I guess if she didn't have such a horrible accent I wouldn't mind. I like her power though. Reminds me of the Taskmaster. If only she would copycat a mime.
Good ep...Monica gets hotter and hotter everytime she's on TV.. Peter and his skills, meaning he was kind of like a copycat for powers, but now he just does things, which is cool... Matt's scene with his dad was lame...How do you let him walk away...This show is useless without the cheerleader in every episode...
On a side note I almost ran over hayden pantiereer whatever last name is in the parking lot behind lazerblazer yesterday in west la. I stop as her and some guy were trying to cross to get to her car...didnt recognize her at first and then i was like oh **** thats claire and she's legal now but then ducked into their car quick and left. lazerblazer is one of the bigger dvd stores in west la the guy inside said it was her too. anyways back to the episode...i liked it hiro and ando do it for me still. what i found weird is that at the beginning of the episode were they usually have the names of the people and location they used their last names instead of their first names...first time i've seen that. i dont think matt's dad is the one behind all the killings but he does have his hand in them. sylar next week looks to be better i like how he told alejandro who doesnt speak a lick of english what he was going to do
Good catch about the Alejandro not speaking english bit. I forgot that when I saw that preview. For what it's worth I think the dad is really hiding and was telling a semi-truth. I also like the Kensei as the bad guy idea. Is anyone else thinking that he and Claire are going to interact somehow? I still feel that we haven't seen the end of the "Save the Cheerleader, Save the world" idea. It would make sense that Hiro came back in time to save her originally when he also is the one who has encountered Kensei.
Meh, I don't mind the accent at all. It gives more authenticity to her character. Or do you have something against people with accents?
Saying this as one of the first people that usually defends slow series like this and LOST to death..... Heroes S2 needs to step it up in a hurry. It almost feels like they're deliberately keeping things in a holding pattern just to produce extra episodes for NBC rating dollars. Only a couple subplots even have plots. Most are just wasting time, and it's obvious the overarching story (last year's stop the bomb) is being completely withheld, unless it is the Old Gen killer. The entire New Orleans subplot is inane and annoying. We really don't need multi-episode arcs anymore about newbies discovering their powers and dealing with getting freaked out by them. Build on last season and expand, don't rehash and redo the same stuff with new faces. That jumping rope scene????? Cringe. In fact, they're basically working on an 0-fer with the new characters. The Spanish Wonder Twins? Like a skipping record every week: we have to get to America, Oh I am upset by you, Oh I kill everyone with my black tears, hold my hand calm down and I absorb your black death tears, let's return on our trek to America. Flying punk teen? Annoying and in a woefully predictable and cliched storyline. Bob the new point man at the agency? Let's pray that they're just lulling us into thinking he has no teeth. The only new characters that are decent are Kensei, and maybe Veronica Mars. And they're not exactly scene stealers. Get your ass in gear, Heroes. We don't need double digit episodes of set up. One aspect that I do appreciate: this series does a nice job of keeping characters gray; not giving you good guys or bad guys as exclusive types. Nikki goes back and forth (and I suspect she's going to become a hunter agent), Bennett goes back and forth, Emperess Petrelli, Nathan, even Sylar was given some humanity with the mom episode. This year, they're grabbing some of the few "wholesome" mainstays and coloring them: Claire rebelling like teens do; Peter going selfish and aggressive; etc. Evan
I think her and her friend have terrible accents. For some reason Hollywood cannot get the New Orleans accent right. They either think everyone has a thick southern accent or a cajun accent. Most of the people in New Orleans have an accent that is closer to a New York or New Jersey.
Hollywood doesn't even bother. They aren't even close to getting the Texan accent right - I can't begin to count the times they've gone with a bum actor using a overdone Mississippi accent circa 1900. And hey, Hollywood, 90% of people don't have a thick accent. No need to make it obligatory. Evan
The problem with monica's accent is that it doesn't fit her character at all ... including race, social status, geography and family.
I'm from Louisiana, and her accent is horrible. A few episodes ago, she said "this county has been through enough." Louisiana has parishes not counties.
