The first thing I thought when I read the headline was "not another MTV."

TV continues to go down the toilet.

Perhaps the reason that Tilt failed to find an audience is because....

It's a freaking TV show about poker!!!

Kind of expected it...ESPN has become what MTV is now, nothing like the original...Playmakers rocked...Wish it was back on...

actually, for a couple of years, mtv2 was actually ok. they played only music videos and they even had a show where the viewers controlled what videos they played.

now it sucks just as bad as mtv.

Where MTV wants to be TV for 14-year old girls, MTV2 has decided to be TV for 14-year old boys.

Which is ok, sometimes, because I still like flipping through the channels and seeing Johnny Knoxville fall down a flight of stairs, but I miss the Jancee Dunn (Conan noise) days.

Not surprising considering most of the time, half of the top 10 plays of the day are non-sports related. ESPN blows ass.

If everyone hates ESPN so much, then I have a good idea.

    Stop ****ing watching.

people are complaining because they feel they lost something...that the station they enjoyed is changing a ton. you're right, you eventually solve that by changing the channel. but since we're all consumers of them, we're entitled to a b**** fest.

i can assure you, i change the channel anytime they're running "original programming" in the form of a drama.

I have, except for actual sports...you know, the reason the station was created.

    One word:

    Amen.

Any time you can watch a station that plays Journey's "Seperate Ways" video (best. video. ever.), you're golden.

I say that if ESPN is going to put out all this original programming, they should develop a sitcom, perhaps a show about a football coach for a small college in Minnesota trying to get the respect he deserves...or, perhaps a show about the wacky antics that go on in a baseball locker room! No wait, how about a sports writer and his daily life with his wife, his co-dependent parents, and his huge, sarcastic brother....

You can be rest assured that I don't waste my time watching the garbage that is becoming more and more prevalent on ESPN. But I'll echo what Max said and add that it hurts to see an old friend like "good ESPN" spiral downwards.

I am disappointed with ESPN. I mean all these less sports-centered programs are going to curtail all the quality sports filler programs like the Spelling Bee, Cheerleader Competition and the Scrabble World Tournament. I mean, I would hate to see those programs fall by the wayside. ;)

It's why I stay with ESPNEWS. ESPN is going down the toilet. Even Sportscenter is garbage. Why do they still feel the need for 90 minute SCs when it isn't football season? All they do is lamely attempt to fill the time slot with hooky feel-good stories about disabled kids that are somehow able to rise above and root for a local sports team. God.

I call those the Sunday Sob Stories. They run those on Sunday nights and then again on Monday Morning. I think the last one was about some high school basketball coach that got fired because she was a lesbian...I was thinking, "Who the hell cares about this?"
