I've enjoyed Juugies responses myself.. he has his view/opinions and I have mine so be it. This makes for interesting discussion some people shouldnt take things so seriously. J
Fun, indeed. You know what? I think Juugie knew it from the very beginning that many people would fight against him, he wrote the play and directed it all by himself..... Maybe we could call it "Juugie Showtime"
His opinions wouldn't bother me as much if he didn't try to beat me over the head with it. His posts are all the same, talking about the same subject, with the same arguments. Even the most rabid Steve haters on this board do not dedicate 100% of their posts about Steve. After a while, it's like enough with the Steve vs. Yao posts already. Talk about something else already. Will Ya? He's practically a gimmick poster. The only reason he's here is to be this persona of the “Yao-only fan antagonizer”. Here to end the terrible injustice against Steve from those evil Yao-only fans.
Right. Right. Right. You're hilarious. Lacking "reasonable arguments" is the last thing I'm every accused of on here. It's usually that I use too much "pure reason" and not enough basketball scouting sense. You don't even know my flaws. Interesting, for someone who hasn't met a syllogism in his life. Here's some almost pure logic. Let's see you try. You claim that Yao cannot be a full-fledged franchise player because he fails to carry his team to wins in a substantial enough % of games. This is inconsistent with: 1. The fact that a hypothetical scenario can exist in which Yao plays a game that is indubitably tremendous, but yet his teammates still lose. The very fact that teammates can play poorly enough to cause a loss, regardless of the performance of Yao, means that victory cannot be a necessary condition of being a franchise player. I win, you lose. 2. The fact that there are many universally recognized franchise players currently on teams with losing records, and truly sensational players that have been on teams with losing record. Empirically, your statement must be false (or alternatively, your understanding of "franchise player" is completely different than the rest of the world's). I win, you lose. Both of those claims are "reasonable." Try to play.
Premise: Because I love my house, I should love the crows living near my house. Statement: Yao is my house, Steve is one of the crows living near my house. Conclusion: I love Yao Ming, so I have to love Steve. Am I logical Haven?
Haven, I found that to be diplomatic. Look I haven't responded to Juugie directly except to say he didn't mean to imply he was "objectional". I'll go with the fact he's been polite. But this is a basketball forum and a lot of people here know a lot about it. But this... First, how do you build an offense around a "hot" player? Second on this team when any outside player is "feeling it" they do seem to get the ball. The criticism about Steve is the time it takes him to get someone the ball and his passing into the post. Then this... First let me get this straight, you want to have a team like the '86 Celtics and you want Steve Francis at the point? Ouch. He wouldn't have lasted the season. Gimmicky defenses really messed with that team's head Second, if you're in the proud tiny minority that thinks we shouldn't funnel this offense through Yao you should find another sport to watch. Yao has deficiencies in his game that are improving at a more than satisfactory rate. And people are talking about Yao not as the future of this team but of the entire NBA. These aren't even opinions, they're emotions - this is my favorite player. You're also on a forum where everyone knows a little about the value of a dominant big man. Believe it or not most people who watch the game do. So I'm not trying to be mean here. You would be better served to make arguments about Steve's value as a basketball player acknowlege his strengths/weakneses and just say you don't want him to leave. Criticizing another player isn't going to boost Steve's popularity rating and it's a juvenile concept at best. And insulting Haven... real smart.
Ask Sacramento and Dallas who are light years ahead of us offensively He's better than who they had. DJ was a shooter/scorer only. Bird really ran the offense. So only those that thing Yao is the second coming should watch basketball? To me, it's too simplistic to just throw the ball to Yao and have everyone stand around waiting for a pass out. Ever wonder why Dallas' 2-3 zone gives the Rockets fits? Because in a 2-3 You can smother the inside guy and still recover out to shooters. I think more people are talking about LeBron as the future of the league at this point. You said it yourself. A dominant big man. Let's wait and see if Yao becomes dominant. Also, everyone keeps making this a Yao vs Steve issue. Where in this thread did I ever bring up Yao vs Steve? I'm not worried about Steve's popularity. I don't know him and I'm not concerned with him once he steps off the basketball court. If the fans of Houston don't want the guy, then ship him off and let him do his thing somewhere else. Whatever. I want the Rockets to be succesful. Bottom line. You love Yao and think he's going to rule the league. I respect your opinion. I'm actually ambivilant about Yao. I don't love or hate him. I don't know him personally, but while he's a Rocket, I root for him. When he's gone, I'll root for the next guy as well. And Haven has insulted me WAY more times and in worse ways than I have ever done to him.
Juugie, your trolling knows no limit. Just answer me this, how many combined rings has Dallas and Sacramento won in the last.... um, ever? Funny thing isn't it?
he's using a chinese adage... i've always heard it as crows living on my roof. it's like... i love my girlfriend, despite the fact that she spells color C O L O U R. or i love the rockets, despite their turnovers.
Why do you continue to start these worthless threads? We know how you feel about Yao. You can easily make comments in the game thread. And please don't defend your ridiculous posting habits with the "everyone bashes Steve Francis so I have to even it out" BS. This is a BBS about the Rockets - not a pulpit for you to pontificate your view of the world.
See that's just the thing. People want to PASS like Dallas. They don't want to BECOME Dallas. But I guess you can't tell the difference between the two.
everyone should chill out for a second. We should never compare our team or try to duplicate our team to any teams of the past, or present. We are what we are. We just need to see how the season plays out.. no more bashing posts will june!!! lol.. carry on..
Juugie, if you feel that your presence is worthy of me following youaround, then go ahead and think that, whatever makes you happy. If you feel a little offended at what I say to you, it is because you represent the worst kind of Rockets fan. In your misguided attempts to promote SF (who is my fave plaer on the ROx), you put down other players on the team namely Yao. You dont say anyting after a good game by the big fella or when the Rox are on a winning streak, you only come aorund when the losing starts. As for "this post" what I say to youis merely based on your posts from previous threads which others have also noted. You are not a Rox fan, you are not a Steve fan, nor a Yao fan. You are merely a fan of yourself, who cannot stand success or anyhting good happening. You sit around waiting for the sky to fall because you just cant handle anything positive. Your main pointsin each "long" post of yours always put down Yao in order to promote your own agenda. I don't agree with your opinions as they are baseless nor do I like your personality that you show when posting, but then I'm sure that you get off since its a negative thing. BTW since we're making fun of names (not counting yourpathetic attempt) why dont you change your name from Juugie to Chicken Little? It's more fitting
