As far as I know there is no Minnesota Court hijacking the election at the moment for us to be afraid of. Second, I don't give a rats ass about the Minnesota legislature. The current state of election law causes all sorts of problems because nobody bothers to update it ever, despite the 2000 election fiasco so you end up meaningless and/or useless deadlines whose purposes are either unclear or have been obviated. It's truly pathetic that Bahrain can run better electoins than we can.
The direct holding perhaps...but the dicta in that case (or any other SC case is very persuasive in how another case will come out). Here's a link to the full opinion...hope you have some time. http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cgi-bin/getcase.pl?court=US&navby=case&vol=531&invol=98
Another example of liberals defending anything that's most convenient with their ideology. Oh, wait...
The solution is obvious. We need to bring in Saddam Hussein as an election consultant. The Iraquis had 100% voter turnout, and I haven't once heard a single Iraqui voter who misinterpredted the ballot (hard to misinterpret Yes or No, but I'm sure Florida could sure give it a try). I also have yet to see an Iraqui citizen who has used the term 'disenfranched' on CNN.
