Maybe rudy told Yao to get into fould trouble in order for Yao to save his energy and body for the upcoming season. Or maybe Yao did that without anyones advice. I bet he doesn't care, cause he would have put up way better numbers than he has, and he is not getting pissed at his teammates lack of giving him the ball becaus ehe doesn't care. He knows china will ose so he might as well conserve energy.

Hey it was just a thought. So no bashing me ok.;)

Stevie, apparently you didn't see the short, hissy fit Yao tossed at the end of the half when his teammates failed to get him the ball while he was under the basket. Ming is cool-headed, but he does have a fire in his belly.

Unlike American players, Ming doesn't think he's the king of the world. He believes in teamwork and while he may get pissed if he doesn't get the ball when he's open, he's not going to start some tantrum.

Note while Rudy T. and the rest of American fans may not understand why Yao Ming did not get enough balls, it was pretty cunderstandable to the Chinese.

The coach of the Chinese NT knows that he had no hope of winning big this year and he knew that his guards are poor. Hence he has repeatedly said that he is taking this opportunity to let young and inexperienced guards/PFs to play against the best players in the world. The guards and PFs are simply too eager to "perform" themselves than "perform" as a team. The coach of the Chinese NT is under the obaligation to fully develop those guards/PFs so that China can perform well in 04/08 Olympics (the NT will be dissolved after the Asian Games). As far as Yao Ming is concerned, the thinking is that he is in the good hands of Rockets coaches and let them to develop him.

In summary, the NT coach is under no oligation to show off Yao Ming's skills but rather to develop his own inexperienced guards and PFs.

The chinese NT doesn't care if they win or lose... They just want to let their young guards or players to play with the world best players just like what it mentioned previously... :)

In the immortal words of Hank Hill, "Hwut the Hell"!!?
If the coach wasn't worried about winning, and wanted to give his guards and forwards experience, why did they even make Yao play? Hey, he was excluded from the offense anyways. Yao could have been here signing his contract, finding a new home, lifting weights, and most importantly playing pickup games with his new teammates. I wish he could have been like Boki, because Boki's been here and will start playing pickup games this week. Maybe I'm out of line, or maybe I'm just right.

I think to get senior member, you have to be around 400 something. I want to say 450, but I'm not sure. I think that is the highest rank, besides Crew and stuff like that.

How about just stating the obvious: the Chinese team sucks. Ming might be as good as some of the USA team but the rest of his team is just pathetic. I have a hard time believing that they dont care about winning since they made such a fuss about Ming and Wang playing.

Believe me they want to win. We Americans just don't know about all the drama going on in the Chinese team. I mean think about it, some of those players are considered veterans in the CBA and you have Yao a 21 year old up and comer and the coach has to balance out the plays so there is no mutiny. But I guarantee you that Chinese national pride is insuring that they are trying to win very badly. They just aren't as good at their inside out game as they should be.

Yeah. Yeah. But if they had Shaq, would they care about a mutiny situation?

If they had Shaq, I'd definitely question his citizenship! :D

I'm not sure. They have a 7'5 guy who could easily get 20 or 30 pts with enough shots, but they don't feed it to him. Maybe Shaq would threaten to eat them if he didn't get the ball. :)

The guy has big legs! Great foundation to build on. I wouldn't think he is that easy to push around. It is going to be interesting to watch his upper body grow. At mid to late twenties, Ming is going to truly be the BEAST from the EAST! (posted previously by somebody, and my favorite name for Ming)

Do you know what I find humorous, Ming is acting like the only reason he wants to play in the NBA is to get better for the national team.

You just let him get a taste of Steve passing him the ball in the post, and racking up assits on the outlet passes to Steve and Cat and Rice.

Or the thrill of winning the Rookie of the Year award, or D player of the year, I have a feeling it will be a BIG deal to Yao; playing in the NBA.
