    Emjohn,

I mean you know exactly WHAT type of player he is, and how he plays, he is developed.

When you draft young guys or players right out of college you HOPE they develop.

With this guy, it is not what he will develop into, but whether his developed Skillset translates to the NBA game.

    Much like Scola last year.....

I think he probably can transition to the nba, but if that's the kinda guy they want, why not just go get Jaric?

This guy is still available and may be a cheap alternative to our PG woes.

last I heard, Cindros was fielding interest from both PAO and a 3-story light industrial development in Thessalonika.

I have not heard anything about him in this year's free agency, so maybe he has not made his intentions known, or team's are no longer interested.....

30-something big guard with ability to run the point but isn't particularly known for being very athletic...

I wish Morey was chasing someone like that.

He is a big beefy PG, you would think Morey would love that type of player.

And yes, I know you are refering to Barry....this guy is 6 years younger.

Interesting. His lateral speed seems a little slow and doesn't look like his defense is that great.

Highlight video didn't so much either and a video can make anyone look good. Even Ryan Bowen.

And DD, do you just enjoy typing.... like this.....?

    It's pretty cool, man....

Actually I hit reply before finishing......I knew what he was referring too....and I like Barry....

But Phoenix and San Antonio are after him too......if Morey gets him that would be great.

LOL - I got to stay consistent.....to my Malakas...

    ;)

As for the guy, he is a very high IQ player....might be a nice change of pace off the bench guy....

He has signed back with Olimpiakos his greek team. Go toeuroleague.net to check it out. I haven't heard anything on Ramunas Siskauskas signing with a new team so maybe he is an option. Big 2 guard in his prime, considered the best player in europe and after winning the euroleague title he is a free agent

Papaloukas signed a 3 year contract worth $21.6 million gross with the Greek team Olympiakos Piraeus. This was announced all over the media in Europe. He does apparently have zero dollar opt out clauses after each year but not until after each year. That means he can no longer be a free agent until after this year and he is NOT available.

It also implies to me that there is no way in hell the MLE could get him because the MLE would be about this currently:

    Year 1: $5,800,000
    Year 2: $6,264,000
    Year 3: $6,728,000

    = 3 years $18,792,000

The biggest name players in Europe are making more than the NBA MLE these days so I seriously doubt teams that are over the cap can even start discussions with a guy like Papaloukas. No one at 31 years old is taking a $3 million pay cut to go from being a superstar in Europe to MAYBE getting play time in the NBA and even then if he does it will be like Scola taking a whole year just to start to adjust and to solidify their spot in the team.

Maybe you can get players like Navarro or Scola that are 27 when they came to the NBA to take less money and gamble on it but a guy that's 31 is going to be looking for guaranteed play time and his last big pay day of his career. I doubt he would even consider a $3 million pay cut to come to the NBA unless it was a team that didn't have anyone at point guard.

He is a little too old, actually I heard that he want a big contract!
But I agree he is a good team player.

That's a possibility money wise. He doesn't make as much as Papaloukas. He actually makes $5.8 million gross a year, exactly where the full MLE starts at. He is under contract with his club but he can opt out for zero dollars any time he wants to. Also, unlike Papaloukas his asking price is not said to be above the MLE. Sometimes it has been rumored he would accept 3 years at the full MLE because that is about what he currently makes in Europe. He's basically about the same as Brent Barry would be for the Rockets taking Luther Head's role and being a big upgrade over Head, but 7 years younger than Barry. He would probably be the best the Rockets could get for backup SG since players like Maggette seem to be a pipe dream.
