Even if we choke away another seed (this would be the fourth year in a row, correct?) I don't think it'd matter much. We would still defeat Portland in the first round and we wouldn't have home court the rest of the post-season anyway. It'll help, but it isn't the be all end all.

In all of the seasons coached by McHale, Rox have collapsed at the end of year. He shouldn't be back next year.

    5-5 in their last 10. Non-existent defense.

    "McHale considering resting his stars/starters."

LOL Yeah, so much for that. These guys aren't getting rest.

    vs. New Orleans
    vs. San Antonio
    @ New Orleans

4 seed on the line! Choke probably coming, ha.

Yeah, I think the phase of the team building plan where McHale makes sense as HC is over. You can't constantly end the season dropping playoff seeding and be legitimate contenders.

    This board is too pessimistic.

You have to believe in them.

Every season McHale has been coach, we have had a late season collapse.. Once is an incident, twice is a pattern, thrice is disturbing. Of course, injuries this season could be a primary factor but this team shouldn't be collapsing like this when we should be up hitting our stride for the playoffs.

I've been pretty lax on McHale and saying that he is also trying to learn how to coach a championship level roster. But I can almost guarantee that if the Rockets disappoint in the playoffs, which would be anything less than a competitive 2nd round, the Rockets will be looking for replacements if not firing him.

Our team needs to mature and sometimes that takes getting a coach that has a well proven championship roster. Just look at the growth of Clippers from Del Negro to Rivers. They were a fringe contender to a real contender.

We're supposed to believe in a team that looks like it doesn't give a **** on the court?

I doubt Portland has decent strip clubs. In other words, who gives a rip about home court.

It's especially not worth driving Harden and Parsons into the ground. But we all know McHale will do it.

True need to win 2 out 3 to get the 4th seed now. I hope they don't choke and lose all 3.

Too bad that D12 and Patman got hurt bc the rockets lost their defense and their swagger.

Dwight being out gives me flashbacks to Yao:(

Makes me paranoid that d12 is hurt more than they let on.

It's obvious this team is dead tired and Mchale still refuses to empty the bench. Cannan 4 minutes! Wtf coach.
