    My co-workers internet and cable went out and is still out.
    That's the worst damage that I heard of so far :)

    I Guess I made the right prediction. Even after all of the forcast models where last run (which all still showed it going right through downtown Houston), you could see the shift to the north simply by looking at the satellite loop. It's not really that hard, if you've been tracking/studying hurricanes for sometime.

    Almost everytime when a storm is gaining strength and is already at the same latitudal line as say Galvestan, it will tend to move more north. It will not keep going west (if it is strenghening). So that's how I knew it was going to miss Galvestan to the north. The 30 miles that I came with was just an guesstimate based on the Satellite loop.

    no, you said it would "be a none story for Houton. Just some heavy Rain for Beaumont and Port Arthur," implying that houston would practically be bypassed. the thing still nailed almost all of Houston, it was just weak as hell.
