As far as my job is concerned, this storm is way too dangerous to drive in.

Reporting from East Houston - Wallisville and the Beltway - Windy, and raining.... Stay tuned.

This storm is going to be weak. I love how the news stations our trying to make it look worse then it really is.

    That's their job.

I've already heard "hunker down" a bunch of times. Are they kidding?

Yeah, that's who's supposed to get the main brunt in the Houston area according to the news this morning. it went from going to Southwest Houston, to Northeast Houston.

I was cracking up this morning when a reporter in the road said we have the early stages of "ponding" as she stood in a small puddle. lol.

Not much over here other than just a normal rainy day. Im already at the office. Funny how many people are taking advantage of the situation and already calling in.

    Funny?? I would say expected.

I think people would rather be home than at work.

the weather guy on channel 26 last night was actually fairly practical, he wasn't repeating the mantra "it can still become a hurricane". he said we might get some nasty rain, if you don't have to go to work, you might want to stay at home.

I've stayed away from the criticism of Dr. Neil Frank of late but he was in his usual form yesterday really pumping up the idea that the storm could stall and strengthen into something alot bigger. I like the guy, he has a passion for his profession but he is over the top way too much.

    Coriolis Effect

Why hurricanes generally appear to turn to the Northeast.

Of course they don't have to depending on the steering currents. I thought the high pressure system was going to push Edouard more Westerly.

Weak storm or not, I'm working from home today. I'd rather not deal with possible flooding, squalls, and traffic in NW Houston on my commute home, thank you very much.

Whole lotta rain and now some winds at I-10 and Federal. I WANT TO BE HOME!!! Only two office people showed up today, and because I came in I'm promised an extra vacation day. Nice!

Here in Port Arthur, we're not even getting any rain. It's windy, but not horribly so. And I'm just east of the center.

DD with each hour Edouard stays on this current westward jog it is now taking I would say your chances of seeing some rain are improving.
