22 million a year -(minus) 54,000= ALOT OF DAMN MONEY...i dont think this even dents his bank account

Thats 0.245% of 22 million....He wont always make 22 million, and he has to pay for 18 years. All in all its still just a couple game checks...

 

So she originally demanded $200k+ then "settled" for $54k a year? Am I reading this correctly?

All for, what I am assuming would be the apex of her life, hooking up with a star athlete, giving birth and raising the kid. This woman really thinks she deserves all that money? This is a sick, sad world we live in.

Women make 25% or so less than men. Child support for middle class incomes is around 15-20% of what the man makes. So in a sense its leveling things off....okay its really not but still...

Article says she's appealing the decision, so she's not settling. Still has her eyes set on the $200K+.

 

Shouldn't TMac want to spend as much on this kid as he does his other kids? I'm not getting why he wouldn't want to pay the 200k, being he spends way more than that on his other kids. Is TMac using Karl Malone as his role model for how to be a dad?

$54k sounds fair. I think its pointless for the judge to complain that the woman was using the money on herself. What child support ever paid isn't also spent on the parent's expenses? Since it is a family, I don't know if it is even possible to do otherwise.

I imagine it would be a different deal if he had custody of the child.

 

Forgot to mention, McGrady and the Rockets did a great job handling the scandal. It didn't blow up into a big thing when it first happened and then when it did make into the public arena, it was already "old news" and didn't get much scandal treatment. Kudos to the lawyers and PR guys.

 

Can t-mac pay this in a lump sum now, create a trust that can be drawn in increments over the years?

 

Here is the thing. Tmac got off easy on this case for paying only 50k a year for child support.

No doubt 50k a year is more than enough for anyone to raise a child, for some even enough for a basketball team of 5 children.


The problem is that child living on 50k child support is certainly not going to enjoy the same lifestyle of Tmac's other children. Therefore that little baby girl is at a uneven disadvantage. At the same time, the judge realized that the mother was a gold digger and doesn't want to reward her with child supports.

At the end, the little baby girl will suffer from living comfortably to living extremely comfortably.

I think Tmac should just take that baby girl in, because she is his child and give her mother rights to visit instead.

 

I don't know, maybe the fact that the child has to grow up without his father.

 

man tmacs sleezy, i remember this thing on fsn when he wuz with his family and kids. hopefully this doesnt cause a divorce that would ruin his season and hopefully yao isnt as sleezy as tmac.

Guy is earning his money, he's a basketball star and we're not.

99,9% can't understand the life he is living, but I personally don't care about it.

As a fan for me it's important that he's playing on a high level and I don't care if he's married or not, having 55 children or not, having planes, cars, hoes neither if he has kid with a women that has no moral since she is as someone mentioned just a pure gold digger.

 

Tmac can have sex with as many women as he wants. He just needs to use a glove.

 

Right. Because the mother would certainly allow that to occur.
