Umm, he claims they got this from the "Herald." It's bad enough that he doesn't provide a link, but refusing to even tell us which "Herald" he's talking about is pretty damning. For god's sake, he isn't even claiming the old "anonymous source" excuse, and he isn't claiming he heard it from a coach, he claims it's IN PRINT somewhere. So why wouldn't he tell us where?

Not to mention that title actually indicates that BOTH Snow and McInnis will be traded to rockets for a power forward. I assume he means one or the other, but yeah, if this is an inside scoop it's a very poorly explained one. In fact, the most poorly explained one I've ever seen.

Vanguard - a well-known academic honors program in middle schools across Houston (TH Rogers, Lanier)

Boy - he's currently still in school

Herald - to announce or proclaim.

So...the kid's just suggesting we trade a PF for either Snow or McInnis. Give him a break ;)

McInnis has mixed feelings about trade

Source says point guard wants to leave because of Snow. But agent says client learned to like deal

    By Brian Windhorst

    Beacon Journal staff writer

CLEVELAND - In his 30-game audition last season, Jeff McInnis was endlessly lauded by his Cavaliers teammates and coaches.

So he's indeed talented, but is also known as prideful and sometimes temperamental. That is why one of the first thoughts the Cavaliers brass had after trading for point guard Eric Snow on Tuesday was what would McInnis' reaction be.

An NBA source close to McInnis, who has one season left on his contract for $3.6 million, said McInnis wants the Cavaliers to trade him after learning about the deal.

But publicly, McInnis doesn't seem to have a problem with the trade.

``I'm cool with it. I didn't know what to think when I heard it, but I feel good about it after talking to Coach (Paul) Silas,'' McInnis said Tuesday by phone from Charlotte, N.C., where he was conducting his basketball camp.

``I can't control trades. I just have to go ahead and work and fight to make our team better.''

At the news conference announcing the trade, Silas quickly pointed out that McInnis, who averaged 11.7 points and 7.5 assists in 31 games with the Cavaliers last season, would be his starter at point guard.

Snow started all 82 games for the Philadelphia 76ers at point guard last season and has started 225 consecutive games over the past four seasons.

``It's not a dilemma, its Jeff's job,'' Silas said. ``You've got a situation where you have two quality players and the cream rises.

``Right now, Jeff's my man. He played last year and did a great job for me.''

Silas and Cavaliers general manager Jim Paxson both said they foresee McInnis and Snow, who has extensive experience playing shooting guard as well, on the floor together.

``It's not going to affect Jeff as much as much as Jeff might think this minute,'' Paxson said.

Snow's arrival, though, no doubt will put pressure on McInnis to continue to perform the way he did at the end of last season, when the Cavaliers were 20-11 with him in the lineup. Snow is under contract for five more seasons, which gives the Cavaliers not only an insurance policy, but bargaining position when McInnis enters free agency next summer.

``Jeff was certainly surprised and shocked at first, but I think he came to like the deal after talking with Eric and with Coach Silas,'' said McInnis' new agent Steve Kauffman, who also represents Snow. ``They're both quality players and I think they can play together.''

    Another deal looming?

The Cavaliers certainly are not done with roster moves. The next deal, whether it be a trade or a signing, will likely address the hole at power forward created when Carlos Boozer left for the Utah Jazz.

Agent Aaron Goodwin confirmed Tuesday that he is still in contract talks with the Cavaliers about client Vin Baker. Mark Bartelstein, who represents Cavaliers free agent Eric Williams, said he's still in talks with several teams about sign-and-trade deals. According to sources, Indiana, New Jersey, Houston and Boston have interest in Williams.

The Snow trade might also make Dajuan Wagner expendable. The Cavaliers were hoping to develop him into a backup point guard, but now have a bona fide one in Snow. With LeBron James, Sasha Pavlovic, and Luke Jackson all able to play shooting guard, Wagner might be moved.

    New additions

Tuesday was a big day for Silas. His son and assistant coach, Stephen, became a father for the first time when his wife, Keryl, gave birth to a baby girl, Kyler. Silas also completed the sale of one of his homes outside New York City and acquired Snow.

Yes! I really think Eric Williams would be a good fit on the Rockets. I am excited to see we are interested! :)
