Kudos to Charlie Casserly for yet another job well done.

But to be sincerely, I thought Charlie did a good job in the draft even if Drew did not sign. Yes he took a risk - that is what upcoming Franchizes do. Heck even the Bucs took a huge risk last year. Some risks are worth taking regardless of the potential outcome. We were more likely not going to win it all this year or the next - so Charlie thought 'what the heck - lets do it'. He has balls - HUGE balls.

This is great for our beloved franchise. To put things in perspective - Drew is a Blue Chip QUATERBACK prospect. They don't come around often. Teams breaks their necks and banks for them. Drew will be paid as a first rounder according to John Mclain. Drew will net us at least a first rounder - and you cannot beat that. The best thing about it all is that this will put our team in the media talk and circulations - and teams will be negotiating against themselves thereby uping our reward.

    Go TEXANS!!!

Good point, rezdawg. I think the Texans fans were sidetracked by some Cowboy fan and not realizing that Houston may get a first rounder for a sixth round pick. I doubt Henson would want to go to a team that is "rebuilding" and coming off of a terrible season when he could be traded to an established team with a veteran QB to learn from.

Henson knows he will not play in Houston and he can be traded to a playoff caliber team. It might be hard for the Texans to get a top first round pick for Henson. But the Texans still would be thrilled getting a first rounder for relatively nothing.

I'm sure this will certainly stir up a bidding war between the Cowboys, Cardinals, and the Packers... What a steal of a 6th rounder!

BAD@$$! Great job Charlie Caserly. I really doubted Henson would return to football, just really glad if this is true.

Let's say for a moment that we trade the pick for something other than a draft pick. Which players on the Cowboys, Cardinals or Packers would you be interested in? I'm thinking young players on either the OL, DL or secondary.

Cowboys: Terrance Newman, Roy Williams, Andre Gurode

    Cardinals: Wendell Bryant, Leonard Davis

    Green Bay: ??

Hard to tell, since they dont know where in the first round they would pick or even if Henson would bring in a first round pick. Newman, Roy, Davis are the ones I'd rather have than lets say a mid to late first round pick. But I dont see anyway the cowboys would breakup their secondary for a Qb who hasnt played ball in a while. The others might be semi-realistic

Ill admit I was highly skeptical of the Ragone, Joppru and Henson picks.

However, if this comes to fruition, it would be

    AWESOME

Charlie Casserly knows what he's doing, I guess...Good call on the Henson pick. I'm thinking we'll end up getting a 1st-3rd rd draft pick along with a somewhat established potential type of player for the secondary (FS or SS hopefully?).

Still, the Ragone pick doesn't make sense to me, and neither does Jabari Holloway...there was much better talent still left on the board, even at the QB position...

The best the Texans can get will come in draft picks. There's no ****ing way they get any of those players mentioned.

Trading a first rounder for a player that hasn't played football for two years is completely insane. I seriously doubt teams will bid blindly on Henson.

Texans' draft pick Henson sticking with baseball for now

INDIANAPOLIS -- New York Yankees minor leaguer Drew Henson is still focusing on baseball -- for now.

Two Detroit radio stations reported Friday that Henson, a third baseman at Triple-A Columbus and former Michigan quarterback, would soon abandon baseball for a possible NFL career.

Henson was selected in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the Houston Texans last April.

"There's been the same rumors going around all year," Henson said Friday before the Clippers played the Indianapolis Indians. "I've got nothing to say right now."

Henson signed a $17 million, six-year contract with the Yankees when he left college after his junior season in 2001, and was considered the Yankees' third baseman of the future.

But he's struggled in the minors -- he was batting .236 with 14 home runs and 77 RBIs for Columbus this season -- and New York acquired third baseman Aaron Boone from Cincinnati last month.

Detroit radio stations WJR and WDFN reported Friday that Henson would switch to football when the Clippers finish their season.

"We're still trying to make the playoffs. It kind of blindsided me," Henson said. "We're trying to finish up here. I don't know if I'll get called u 3/8p or not."

Well, they had to name somebody the starter. Personally, Henson's reaction sounds to more like he is shocked that this news got out so fast, rather than appalled at a false rumor. Notice he didn't deny it. I'm thinking this is probably true, and hopefully everything still works out.

We'll trade you Janokowski for Henson, He could boot 65 yarders in Reliant all day if you just keep him away from the hookers.

It's not the hookers that gets him in trouble. Bribing the cops in open daylight afterwards is a no-no.

We ain't in Poland anymore Sebastian.

It would be nice if we could trade him to Arizona for their #1 pick then we would have 2 top 10 picks in next years draft. We could draft Frank Gore and Sean Taylor with those picks.

Why are you laughing? A franchise quarterback is worth Williams, Newman, and a whole secondary, not just a safety and cornerback.

Why do you think they get chosen number 1 in the draft all the time? duhh.

Tell that to New England who got all of one team to offer up a first rounder for a franchise qb.

If the cowboys wanted a qb instead of Newman or Roy, they would have used a pick on a qb instead of one of those players. duhhh.

If Drew Henson is signed by the Texans then traded it will be for no more than a draft pick. You aren't going to see a trade where players from both sides are involved. The NFL doesn't really work that way anymore. If the Texans were able to get a first round pick then that would be great. I have a feeling though your looking at a 2nd, but hopefully i'm wrong
