I am really craving these south asian/middle eastern rice recipes and one of them calls for what I believe is the equivalent of dried lemon peel, but I don't know where to go find it (I tried an Indian grocer store nearby and they didn't have it)

any idea where specifically I can get it at? also if you recommend a specific store for all my spice needs for south asian and middle eastern foods, preferably somewhere nearby south or southwest Houston, it would be great! :)

    1. Cut lemon
    2. Dry lemon

If there's anyone on this site who knows anything and everything about dried lemons, it's King Cheetah.

Obviously, you both either don't live in Houston where nothing dries or you don't cook. You can't dry lemons in Houston anymore than you can dry peppers. They would get moldy before drying, unless you have a dehydrator.

I just peel some little bits off a lemon with a peeler. So it's not dried. It's probably going to get wet in the recipe anyway. :) Then again, I am the very opposite of a perfectionist.

I've made moroccan styled preserved lemons before. If they're similiar you'll need a lot of salt.
