*cough* a SG like T-mac *cough* *cough* VC *Cough* In all seriousness the only other SG that can create and is a decent passer to put next to AB is VC. Him and T-mac are pretty similar
yeah i've watched him play n he does have a really nice upside n can really improve once he comes to the nba, i see him as a joe johnson type player.... i want the rockets to draft him and maybe get somebody mbenga or somebody better (if anybodys available) to back up yao next season
Speaking of Morrow, he may be on the block? Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/02/13/SP941C1744.DTL#ixzz0fSqkYiq5
Personally, I wanted Rudy Fernandez from the get-go, but now he, like Brandon Rush, is too "expensive" to acquire. The shooter we need to target now is Marco Belinelli, who currently makes $1.5M in Toronto. Belinelli is pining away for some action, and he can be a lights out shooter and precision passer. Yes, he is a mediocre defender, but part of that is being he has not yet put enough muscle on his young bones. With Brooks, Ariza / Budinger and Belinelli spacing the floor, Yao and Scola/Landry will be wide open to operate.
I'm not sure how expensive Fernandez would be to acquire, but he's the player that makes the most sense to me, and once Roy gets back he'll only be able to get limited minutes again. What do others think it would take to get him? Budinger and a lottery protected first round pick? If we could somehow get our hands on Tyrus Thomas, could we ship Thomas and Budinger to Portland for Fernandez? I know Portland highly values Fernandez, but if the offer was right, couldn't we pull that off?
I agree. Xavier Henry beats anyone we could add in a trade at this point. Would be on a rookie contract even if it's a late lottery one. And he was the #3 prospect from Rivals behind Wall and Cousins who could potentially go 1 and 2. If we could draft him in the middle of the first round it would be a clearcut steal since Rivals rankings are oftentimes even better predictors of future success than the pre-draft rankings sometimes. Example: Montae Ellis was the #2 prospect in Lebron's year but didn't perform well in college so he went to the second round. Well GS is pretty happy it got him now isn't it?
A decent PG with 3 point shooting ability would do better than getting Martin. Shift AB to SG. Even though AB is subpar in defense, martin might be even worse. And that gives Rox another ball handler, most likely cheaper as well.
Monta Ellis never went to college... I agree that the Rivals ratings are right most of the time (ex.. Chase Budinger was the 4th rated prospect in the nation coming out of highschool in 06') Budinger didn't live up to the high expectations at Arizona...fell to the 2nd round and adapted to the NBA better than some 1st rounders...
