There is a silver "button" that you hold down as you loosen/tighten the collet nut. That will keep the collet from spinning while the collet nut loosens.
Yeah, but a dremel is a tool that you can use for many things. I've used mine to cut bolts, split nuts, polish my intake manifold, cut brackets, sand wood...just a ton of uses...Every man should have one in his toolbox.
Thanks, I got it. Now I'm wondering if it's even possible to remove the screws. Even if I cut off the nut, I doubt I'd cut the entire nut off because it's so close to the tank. And if I damage the tank...then all my work has gone to waste! Here's a pic of what I'm up against.
Same here. I just had to gut the contents of one of my toilets. No tank disassembly required. What kind of toilet is this?
It looks like pgabriel is the only other one that knows the many uses of WD-40. That stuff has about as many uses as duct tape.
Country wisdom from my grandad: "If it doesn't move and it's supposed to, put WD-40 on it. If it moves and it's not supposed to, put ductape on it."
Update: So I fiddled around with the screw and nut some more. Spent a couple more hours. Gave up. Called the plumber guy. He fixes it in about an hour. Costs $50. Now that I think about it, it's well worth the 50 bucks.
