On your list, I like Leila. Not on your list, how about Nevaeh. Its Heaven spelled backwards. Dont know if your into that but it stuck in my head when I heard it
you dont remember that song by... i forgot the name of the band. they were popular in the early 90's. the song went something like... aisha... you are the girl that i never had... and i want to get to know you better... aisha...... they also sang that song "at the playground"
Meowgi... of course you pick the most popular one. Lily was 33rd in '06. Morgan 35, Riley 55, Madeline 71, Haley 75, Leila 284 and Annelise was not in the top 1000 (but Annalise was 589... so folks may misspell her name). http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
Masculine-sounding girl names have been very trendy for the past generation or so, and I can guarantee if you use one then your kid will end up sharing names with other people for the rest of her life, and that sucks. Haley - yeah, I know about 10 of them. The other names aren't bad, but why not go for something that falls outside the scope of 'normal' names? Name her She-Ra! or Desdemona! ****oris? Magdalena! Constance? Aphra! Ralphine! Zinnia? Comfort? Bell! I was named thadeus, and I turned out highly-awesome! (from the SS site: Thadeus is not in the top 1000 male names for any year of birth in the last 40 years. Please enter another name.) Who wouldn't want that for their kids?
Name your kid RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/esUcDIZNl3Y&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/esUcDIZNl3Y&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I just broke the tie between Leila and Lilly I like Leila edit: If i had a girl i'd name her Shea.....after shea stadium
Annelise or Lily. Since Lily is ahead, I'm voting for that, to save the poor girl from Leila, which will be mispronounced by telemarketers and new business associates for the rest of her life.
Name it after a classic song so a boy can one day sweep her off her feet with his guitar and sweet prepubescent voice: Layla [eric clapton] Jenny (8675309) Jude [beatles] Penny Lane [beatles] Eleanor Rigby [beatles] Sgt. Peppers [beatles] Roxanne [po'po] Barbara Anne [beach boys] Jamie [weezer] Penelope [pinback] Songs aside, I personally like the names Abigail and Isabella.
Leila is pronounced Lee-La? I thought it was pronounced Layla. I take back my vote. Leela sounds dumb. Layla is right on the money.
