No and No. If your in a market that has good t-mobile coverage why change? Unless you don't mind the premium for Verizon service.

I'm not looking to change services, just looking for a better phone that can be be unlocked. T-mobile phones are such crap. It's like they are behind every other provider in phones.

The Samsung Galaxy looks pretty damn good.

I haven't had an in depth comparison with that and the Incredible though.

    get the Casio Rock!!!!
i just got it last week and its so durable and water resistant.

its a flip phone but its great and it will never break. Plus it has a neat flashlight on the outside which has a pretty high light intensity. At least check this phone out before buying an expensive touch screen phone that will most likely break before your contract is up.

I hear you man. The vibrant is a very nice phone. Or you can wait till project emerald comes out in November. Big things planned with it.

there are a slew of new phones coming out in the coming months, so its just a matter of when you want to get it.

as far as the current droids that are out now, Droid X and the Incredible are the way to go. Size isn't really an issue with the Droid X, you'll be able to fit it in your pocket comfortably and the hump is just a bunch of garbage people are bickering about, I for one actually like it because its easier to hold while on calls

The Incredible's only edge in my opinion is the camera. It takes a heck of lot better quality pics than the Droid/Droid X. The Camera isn't really a factor to me as if I wanted to take pics, I'd use my digital camera.

The Droid 2 coming out next month is a mirror of what the Droid 1 is but with a better keyboard, faster processor (1ghz), and will have Froyo (Android 2.2) when it comes out. There is also rumored plans for a Star Wars R2D2 Special Edition of that device.

As far as the Samsung Galaxy's line coming to Verizon, the Fascinate, the verdict is still out there. Its basically the same as the TMobile Vibrant thats out but with a flash, here's a video of Mobile Burn's experience of it

    <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vp1y4Zbsv7Q&rel=0&color1=0x7e7e7e&color2=0xce621f&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vp1y4Zbsv7Q&rel=0&color1=0x7e7e7e&color2=0xce621f&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

you can't go wrong with any of the phones coming out, regardless what you buy today, they are going to be new ones within the coming months. Google/HTC/Motorola said last year, they expected to be around 10 Android devices by the end of the year, so they are more than 1/2 way there. Of course their should be probably a few more during the holiday season, so don't be surprsied for any new ones, hell there is a rumored Droid Mini already

I have t-mobile as well. I plan on getting the Samsung Vibrate (galaxy S). that thing is a beast.

Verizon and sprint use cdma technology while t-mobile and att (and the rest of the world) use gsm. gsm phones use sim cards, cdma don't. so, you can't use sim cards with verizon phones. stick w/ t-mobile.

Decided to go-ahead and pick up the galaxy s aka the vibrant for my family today. What an absolutely awesome phone. I never thought an independent skin on an android device would outside HTC's sense UI but this touch wiz is maybe better. The interface is wonderland the screen just blows you away with color and sharpness. I am in absolute awe over the screen. And the recorder and camera might be better than my Evo. Lack of flash is a real bummer and being that its not a 4G (hspa+ as t-mobile calls their version) device really hurts also. It's extremely light, came with two colors for a shell back to choose as you like, and can be used as a remote for both my large screen Sammy tvs. Trying to figure out how to stream video to my tvs wirelessly now.

It does have less brightness in the whites though that portray a blue tinge, and the capacities buttons on the bottom aren't near as good as my evo's. I ran it through two benchmarking tools and the vibrant crushed my Evo on quadrant, doubling and tripping its frame rate across the board. Man if Samsung would of just come to bat and added a few high tech hardware items, like front facing camera for video conferencing, a dedicated hdmi out port, an 8+ mp camera, flash for the camera I would easily list this phone above the Evo especially with all the goodies it came loaded with.

Thanks to the poster who linked the sale to costco's wireless division with the sale on vibrant for 99.99. I grabbed three and they came with free extra car chargers, carrying case, and Bluetooth headphones, for less than half the price t-mobile wanted without the extra stuff. I'll turn and sell one for 400.00 tomorrow (already set up thank you craigslist) so in essence I upgraded two lines picked up some extra car chargres and Bluetooth headphones all while profiting a hundred dollars.

Seriously the vibrant is an awesome phone.

for all android users, do you like the add on skin/OEM customized home screen like HTC Senc, MotoBlur, Samsung's Galaxy?

Personally, I have had 2 Android devices that were barebone, the G1 and the Droid, and would rather have the Android stock screen and just customize it myself with whatever is available in the Android market. I love using LauncherPro on my Droid, customized it 5 home screen panel, although I can put 7, and have the 3D app launcher like the Nexus One had.

Having the vanilla UI on my first two android devices (G1, Nexus) I like it a lot. Nexus gets fast upgrades because of it, and I use Cyanogen Mod 6 so ADW Launcher is built in. Will definitely keep using ADW Launcher when I get the Vibrant.

I had stock for my first Android phone (Moto Droid) and I now have HTC Sense for my current Android phone (HTC Incredible).

As of right now, I like Sense better. It cleans up a lot of the UI aesthetics and adds some nice functionality in some areas. I may switch back to stock after Android releases their next OS version that overhauls the UI (either 2.3 or 3.0 - whatever version number they assign to "Gingerbread"), but I'd have to see what Sense offers after that version comes out too. The thing is, if I went back to stock Android, I would end up trying to find all these programs and widgets that replicate Sense functionality but don't do it as well as Sense does.

Are there even any high-end phones right now that come with stock Android? Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Moto Droid (out-dated and being replaced soon) and the Nexus One (stopped being sold online - not sure if it will be sold in stores). Seems like every new Android device has some type of UI skin on it nowadays.

Did you not read the OP? The first six words of it clearly state why your reply is totally irrelevant advice for him.

Droid X, just because I have one doesn't mean I am biased.
