Yeah, "Hip to be Square" being played in the background seems to lighten the mood of somebody getting his head chopped off.
Anything by Wilbur Smith is a must...he has it all. He takes you back in time with adventure, history, great action, etc. Just read through the Pirate series...all excellent. Just like the River God series. Perfect beach reading.
