Help me pick a DLP TV

Ahh.
Normal TV = 480 lines (interlaced)

i = interlaced --> 1080i = alternating 540 lines that look good with still images but can't keep up with quick action (action movies, sports)

720p --> all 720 lines shown at once, so the above problem doesn't show up

1080p = full 1080 lines shown at once --> better resolution than 720p and without the interlace issue

I also ordered the Samsung 56" 1080p from Tiger Direct. Looking forward to its delivery!

there's no native 1080p source material at the moment, is there?

I'm 95% sure none of the available american HD tv channels are 1080p native. xbox360 isn't either

I got Best Buy to match the Home Theatre Store price of $2999 of a 50" DLP Sony 1080.

 

Sony doesn't make any DLP TVs, they do have SXRD which is similar to LCoS.

 

Okay let me check my receipt and I'll scan it.

 

its pretty much DLP. SXRD = 3 DLPish chips. (Lcos)

i've seen the 1080p SXRD. its NICE!
