Comedians are socially liberal like all creatives; but I think a big chunk of the Tough Crowd, New York types have very cynical views about minorities and other social groups, and have gotten more vocal since Imus/Michael Richards. Like it or not, racial unease is at least a tertiary subtrait of postwar conservatism. Also, if comedians have made a little cash they probably get buggered by the taxes up there. And half the guys from the Carvey/Sandler SNL epoch: Miller, Lovitz, Victoria Jackson, Norm McDonald and Spade, are all vocal conservatives.
This is what we came up with and it's shaping up to be a really, REALLY strong show! None of these comics like each other but I won't advertise it because it might cheapen the overall concept. Maybe I should post this in the D&D... http://www.symfonee.com/Improv/houston/comedians/Bio.aspx?Uid=a0bc3613-df73-44c4-b1dd-56c842b344c6 Thoughts?
Thanks for using my suggested tagline AB, makes me feel cool Wish you the best of success with it! Since I'm not in Houston, I'd love to catch a podcast or live streaming/uStream or recorded performance uploaded to youtube.
Thoughts are... that's moving fast. Nice job. Best of luck on your debut. Overall it looks like a great foot forward. The marquis at the link is a bit visually erratic to me, but I could see where that is probably intended judging by the style you're going for as evidenced by the logo and the format. Impressive start. Hope it goes great.
