this is a good one Comedically Correct was another good one. Rocket River Comedy Talk . . no big Whoop!
Seriously speaking, I tend to think of all comedians as "liberal." With a few exceptions, I see most talking pro-DEMOCRAT stuff. Isn't it going to be hard *that's what what the female comedian said* to find "conservative" comedians? Tell me you disagree... and tell me whom you've heard speak as a conservative...
'no cover' sounds great -- as long as there's no cover charge. Perfect, actually. But aren't those usually associated with amateur nights? Once they start charging, I guess you could change it to 'some cover', 'hardly any cover', 'well worth the cover', 'cover me' or simply 'charge!' if you want to tie the nature of the show to the admittance fee? Or just take the 'bare naked ladies route' and hope nobody minds that the marque doesn't reflect the show? (skip the drug charges and replacement of the founder and star player though)... sound like a great idea for show. congrats on your success!
Red Eye on FoxNews has comedians all the time, and, of the political ones, there are more conservatives than liberals.
True, but Houston comedians have opposing points of view even within their politics. This will not be a show with politics as it's foundation, the range extend well beyond that. I'm thinking everything from pop culture to their opinions about each other(ouch!). Black vs. White Male vs. Female Amateur vs. Professional Dirty vs. Clean "Reverend" character vs Actual Reverend Ted vs. Slade (2 comics who hate each other) These in addition to stand-up sets and special celebrity guests are examples of the conflict that will make up the meat of the show. It will be calculated but not canned.
Dennis Miller seems to be the only TRUE conservative. I'd like to be a guest one of these days... no way people should walk down a church aisle for a wedding while dancing to Chris Brown's "Forever." NO WAY.
In re the title, if it gains popularity we will invoke the '24 hour fitness' rule. thx for the congrats, but we are still a ways away. All this input is EXTREMELY helpful.
I'm still waiting for my hookup with Miss March 2007 looking forward to the show, u know I'll be there!
Seems like a very unique idea...why don't you name it either "The Green Room with Paul Provenza", or "Comics Unleashed"?
