Oh yeah! I named a guinea pig Robocop, once. I don't think that's a great name, but its a pet name. Still trying to come up with cat names though. I think I've heard of Patches for a cat. We also had a dog name Ziggy. I starting to run out of names, now.
I want to make this clear. CAP is a no-kill shelter. In fact there are people who will rescue an animal from the city pound and deliver them to CAP. It's a great organization. For those of you who don't know...they are on I-10 just East of Dairy Ashford. Visit their website at www.cap4pets.org. Great names everybody...keep them coming.
Ref, I know you asked for all serious but... I had a cat in college and named him BIRD, after my uncle Bird. Call me crazy (again) but I'd almost swear that the dang thing thought he could fly!
When I took my dog in to get fixed, there was a woman who brought in her 3 cats to be fixed also. When the tech asked what the pets names were, she said, "They are all named Muffin. It's easier that way." In that spirit, I'd recommend Stitch and Stitch. Why do cats need names anyway? It's not like they'll come when you call them.
How about Danger Kitty? (You know, a reference to that "Behind the Music" spoof Discover card commercial about the 80s Poison-like band of the same name...)
My best two cats ever were named Junkie and Elvis Food. Junkie was named for his addition to lovin', not heroin -- though my friend and I were pretty well poisoned when we found him. Elvis Food was named for his fascination with Elvis and his love of food. Whenever he saw Elvis on television or heard him sing, he paid rapt attention. We figured the words "Elvis" and "Food" were the only ones that would get his attention. I liked the name Junkie better though. He's still with an ex-fiancee of mine. Couldn't bear to break the bond between my cat and hers. In fact, thinking of him now has made me sad. Thanks a lot, Refman. Try to help a brother out...
Wow...the hits just keep on coming. I told Mrs. Ref that the good folks on clutchcity.net would come to our aid with some great names to choose from. I'm not disappointed. Keep 'em coming ladies and fellas. Family names work...even for pets. Kind of like how George Foreman has 4 sons all named George? Classic TV reference. We'll see how that goes over with Mrs. Ref. That's actually really cute...added to the list for Mrs. Ref's consideration. I'll be sure to denote threads that may conjure up painful memories. Nothing eases the pain like a kitten though Batman...you could even name him Robin.
How 'bout thirteen....no, thirteen's no good! What about Soda?? How could you not like Soda? It's refreshing!
