Yea, I wish I was doing something I loved. It seems like it's too late to switch now because I will lose some hours. Information Technology, young guys get hired right off the bat, and make about 70k. I hear a lot of good things about IT, but I read somewhere companies don't want older guys.
its awesome for people who are already in the industry, but for those trying to get in, its much harder. IBs' are doing more pitches than actual deals, and the amount of deals going through are much smaller, and taylored to all the boutique banks since there are less billion dollar deals.
http://www.uh.edu/academics/catalog/tec/ilt_degree.html#infosys Information Systems Technology is the big one. I believe one of the classes they have to take is computer programming. It deals with a bunch of ****, but I hear the job is flexible and pays well. It's easier than becoming a Physical Therapist imo, I don't like science. I would probably major in IS if I could start over. With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology you can do Sports Admin, Exercise Science, movement & Sports Studies, etc. http://www.uh.edu/academics/catalog/edu/kin_courses.html In the end, it's your decision, and I hope it works out best for you. It's much harder to achieve happiness than it is to achieve financial success. Do what makes you happy.
A LOT of my buddies from engineering are currently in law school now pursuing patent law. It works well because you're required a technical background to do it, and the people best suited for tech patents (esp with high end technology) are electrical engineers. They can actually understand the specs/research/science behind it. Then again a lot of my engineering buds also went to med school, so in reality I don't know a lot of engineer grads actually going into the field.
