THIS, I go to hulu on my laptop, turn on old episodes of Newsradio, turn the brightness off and I am asleep before the end of the episode. If that doesn't work, I will occasionally take an Ambien. It can knock you out within a few minutes, but I do not take it often because it is very strong and can have some strange side effects, particularly hallucinations.
I have the same problem, I use melatonin + I smoke that kush to help me close my peepers. It's funny because I can fall asleep at any point in the day, but after about 9pm I start having trouble. Some people are just night owls and some people are just early birds, it's how your body is set up. There really isn't much you can do to change things.
Seconded, and I'll recommend Fall and Decline of the Roman Empire. Hoo boy, that's the last time I try to listen to something "smart."
This. I am a light sleeper. Once in a while I take a Nyquil that will put me to sleep for about 10 hours.
I don't think so...not in my case anyway. I spent a decade playing bartender and keeping their hours. Loved it. The only time I saw the sun rise is if I was still up from the night before. Then I changed occupation to my very first 8-5 kind of job. Wow! So cool to wake up before the sun. My body easily made the change because I wanted the change. And it will be the same on all habits you think you're stuck in. Really.
Disagree. I've had multiple jobs in multiple fields and no matter what, whether I like my job or not, whether I'm happy or not, I'm a night owl. Some people can make the switch easily; others can't. Bring on the night shift. I like all the drunks and crazies that come into the ER at night anyway.
Can't be. Dude, you're a human being. We are by nature daylight creatures. Quit telling yourself you CAN'T. But I DO agree with you on one count: Loved all the late night/early morning crazies. Some of the best entertainment I've ever seen has been in a Denny's!
ive taken everything under the sun... it either doesnt work or doesnt work for long periods of time (ie tolerance). mar1juana is the only thing that consistently puts me to sleep and i wake up with no drowsy/foggy feeling + feel well rested. i pop 20mg of melatonin now and it doesn't even phase me. 5mg use to do the job.
20 mg of melatonin? Jesus that's a lot. Not that it'd harm you but I believe when you get up that high, your pineal gland doesn't produce as much on it's on when you stop taking it. I'm in the same boat though with sleeping pills. I am considering trying the ol' good kush though. I hate trying to get illegal drugs. You can get all the prescription **** just fine, but mar1juana? Heaven forbid, lol. It'd be nice if it was just at a pharmacy or something instead of having to deal with shady people who may or may not be spiking your mar1juana. In short, I am looking for a mar1juana dealer. Excellent user feedback and reputable standing. Regards.
I've had on and off insomnia for a few years now. Tried different things with varying success - Nyquil seems to work the best for me, but I don't want to start depending on it. SleepMD also has helped me at times, and its non-addicting or habit-forming. On CNBC on Friday, they were talking about this product: http://www.myzeo.com/ It looks pretty interesting in that it detects how long you're sleeping, when you're getting up, how deep your sleep is, etc. Supposedly it also can give you tips based on the type of sleep you're getting. I have issues with waking up throughout the night and then being tired the next day, so I'm really curious how much quality sleep I'm actually getting in a night. Unfortunately, it's fairly expensive. It does have a 30-day free trial, so I'm debating trying it out just to learn how I currently sleep.
lol no sleep study done. that would probably cost an arm and a leg + much of my precious time. there are plenty of dealers in houston; a lot of the ppl i pick up from live in really nice neighborhoods/places (ie sugarland/heights). if i still lived in houston, i could help ya out. i moved just outside of houston and couldnt find a dealer either. i just hopped onto grasscity.com and PM'd a few ppl in the area and eventually got a connection. there are plenty of ppl from houston on there so im sure youll find someone. most are pretty laid back/helpful but some are pretty cautious since it is an illegal drug. hopefully it gets fully legalized in cali in november.
Still disagree. I'll be 35 this year, I've been this way my whole life, as have my parents, grandparents, and according to them, their parents as well. It's a huge part of why I wanted to pursue nursing: shift work. When I work 7am-7pm, or even 7am-3pm, I'm a complete zombie and despite this I can't fall asleep at a "reasonable" hour. 7pm-7am though, I'm out like a light by 8-9am and fully functional throughout the night after waking up at 4pm. Human being or not, I'd imagine our ancestors had amongst them some people predisposed to keeping the campfire going or watching out for dinosaurs or whatever they had to do at night. Some folks just function better at what others consider to be odd hours.
I bought this and have been using for the past 2 weeks. Its pretty cool if you are into stats and seeing how you sleep. I've always had problems with sleep and being alert/fatigue in the day. Once I get more data into the system, I should be able to see a pattern as to my sleep schedule.
I'm a net addict, but staring at a lighted screen tricks your brain into thinking it's daytime. If possible, try avoiding TV or computer a couple of hours before sleeping.
Same here I'm always so tired throughout the day, and then when night hits, I can't fall asleep at all. On weekends I feel at my best, usually staying up all night, sleep at 7am then waking up at 2pm and it feels great.
is there anything to help you stay awake? Like a reverse Nyquill? I just pulled an all nighter and about to hit the sack. I've got to wake up in 3 hours and I need something to help me stay awake during class. Monster, Red Bull and all of those other energy drinks are crap and don't work for me. Also soda and coffee just flat out don't work and sometimes actually put me to sleep.
