I'd like to know why we're more scared of the Jazz than the Lakers. The Lakers have done a bigger number on us all year. Do we ONLY want the second round or do we want a ring? I'd love to root for the Jazz in this game, but I'm poisoned by the rest of y'all. The Jazz are not our competition. The Lakers are. Because the second round should not be our goal. The championship should be. (Of course, that also means we fear no one.) Can I get a hell yeah? Or are all you guys just wanting second round and done?
Never underestimate the value of luck. In this case, the fortune of not having to play the Sonics. When the #8 Nuggets upset #1 Sonics, it opened up a new door, a new opportunity. Mutombo deserved a ring from us that year.
we lost in 7 games vs the Sonics the year before or you can say we were one Kenny Smith shot away from going to the Finals 3 times in a row. I think people are just tired of seeing Utah. Whomever we play, this isn't the same team that choked game 7s in the past. We have Warier!
Sorry, man. I'm not with you. I wanted the Michael Jordan Bulls in each of those Finals. I regret he wasn't there to face us, because we had numbers on them. I don't want to win by luck. I want to win because we have the best team in the league. I believe in this team that way. Do you?
Bottom line: I believe the best team should win the championship, not the lucky team. And I believe that, though we're a longshot for it, we might be the best team, as proved in the playoffs. And I want to prove it and THEN win it. Then it will mean something. I don't want us to get lucky. I want us to win out, fair and square. And I believe we can do it. Do you?
We don't match up well with the Jazz. Okur pulls Yao out to the perimeter and renders him useless on the defensive end. Deron Williams is a big PG who will physically dominate Brooks. Boozer is too strong and quick for Scola and Yao down low. We have no answer for their pick and roll. And the Jazz play a very physical style that disrupts our somewhat finesse oriented team (Artest excluded). Are we scared of them? No. Are there better matchups to hope for? Yes.
It always takes a degree of luck to win it all. Just because you win the NBA Finals, doesn't mean you would be able to beat all the other 15 teams that made the playoffs in a 7 game series. If the Mavs didn't lose to the Warriors in the 1st round, they could very well have won it all. In the NCAA Tournament, being the National Champion doesn't mean you would've beaten all 64 other teams that made it there. You have to hope you match up well enough with the teams you play to win a 7 game series. Like you said, what if Bulls had to face the Rockets? Things may have been different... A TJ post in the GARM!? Do you think America matches up well with Obama? I think we do, but you fear Obama.
You should post more in the GARM, Trader_J. I won't say I agree with you, because I might suffer a seizure, but a well thought out post, never the less.
why would u want to play the Jazz? im so glad i wont even have a chance to play them this year! Peace, TMac
Since when does respecting a teams ability make you any less of a fan? I hate the Jazz..just as much as everyone else does. But, if you don't respect a team, that beats you year in and year out..what does that make your team? If a team doesn't have your respect when you go play them, your going to get your a** kicked. You better respect your opponent going in.
