I said this in another thread and I still stand by it: I really find this Avoid the Jazz talk annoyingly gay and chickensh1t. If we get them, we get them. I admit the Jazz seem to have our number the last 2 years, but going around and being vocal about ways to avoid them is making us look like a bunch of yellow bellied pansies. The last thing I want is a Jazz fan talking trash to me because they think we are afraid of them. It's one thing to get beat by them in a hard fought 7 game series and you can hold your head high for giving it your best shot, it's another to talk like a sniveling coward and be open about avoiding teams. Man up peeps.
I just don't get this thing about running up to the playoffs scared. I'm not scared of anybody and I don't think our team is either. I don't think they're aiming for the second round; I think they're aiming for a ring. And I don't think they're praying they get there by dodging anyone. If there's a team out there that's better than us, let's beat them. Let's not dodge them. That's sissy stuff. If we deserve to be the champs it's because we're the best team; not because we dodged a team. I pray we get the toughest possible four teams and beat them all. That would be worth it.
Jazz fans grow a little more proud every time we make another thread about them, including ones like these...... .... but let them. I approve of this message.
I fear the Jazz because they exploit our three weaknesses.......point guard play- Aaron Brooks vs. Deron Williams........Pick and Roll defense with Yao......and the inability to close out close games........Im not a pessimist but stating my fear with matching up with them....
i've been questioning those fans who keep stating we should fear utah all week long, i'm completely against being scared and running away from utah BUT, i do respect their GAME. You can ignore me if you want, but it seems like you're saying rockets fans either fear them or don't respect them because they are cheaters, one or the other. I think there should be a third option because i'm sure others share my view. i don't fear them, i think they are dirty, they cheat, but they do it well and have talent, so i respect their game and although i believe Houston can beat them, i won't take them lightly.
FEARLESS You say the hill's too steep to climb Climb it. You say you'd like to see me try Climbing. You pick the place and I'll choose the time And I'll climb That hill in my own way. Just wait a while for the right day. And as I rise above the tree lines and the clouds I look down, hearing the sound of the things you've said today. Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd Smiling. Merciless the magistrate turns 'round Frowning. And who's the fool who wears the crown? And go down, in your own way And every day is the right day And as you rise above the fear-lines in his brow You look down, hearing the sound of the faces in the crowd.
any team in the league has a pg weakness on defense going up against Deron. Unless you're Denver, NO, maybe NJ, phoenix, and SA, you're not going to really counter it.
Such a sad story I'm seeing here. Paper and his paper friends said the same thing to each other before they battled Scissors. Scissors and his scissor friends said the same thing before they battled Rock. Rock and his rock friends said the same thing before they battled Paper. Sometimes, retreat is the best option, but some are too cocky and prideful, and let it override their logic. A tragedy indeed.
I don't take them lightly either. I've been a fan since the 1970s and they've been playing dirty-and winning by doing it-that whole time. I'm just saying I'm sick of our fans wanting to run away from that. They are the Devil. They cheat and they're great at it. I acknowledge that. I'm just saying it sucks to run away like little girls. Let's beat them where they stand. And let's not only shame THEM for their cheating but also every "fan" that wants to run away from them. If we're trying to win, we shouldn't fear anyone. Least of all, the 6-8 seed in the WC, when we're the 2-5. And I'm sick of hearing that talk in OUR fan forum. F the Jazz. They cheat, they suck, they are NOT to be feared. So I was just trying to clean it up here: If you fear them, (worse) if you respect them, just let me know so I can have a more positive experience during the playoffs by putting you on ignore. Because no real Rockets fan would fear or (especially) respect these sorry cheaters. They're nothing but an obstacle to overcome. And overcome them we will. Or we just won't deserve it. I believe. I believe we can win a championship because I believe we can outplay every other team in the league. If anyone else here doesn't agree, they should be focused on how to improve the team; not on how to avoid our competition. That is pure p***y stuff. I want the best competition all the way through. And I want to beat them. Then again, I lived through 94-95: the best come from behind campaign in all of pro sports. So I'm a believer.
So if you get constipated because you ate a rock, you've got the paper ready and some scissors... what do you do with the scissors? I can think of something, but it would be bloody painful.
I'm guessing you're a young guy who wasn't old enough to appreciate 94-95. I'm a Rockets fan who was in his 20s in those years. Nothing is impossible. Never underestimate the heart of a champion.
Nothing wrong with hoping for a better matchup for the first round since the Rockets haven't gotten out of it for like 12 years and twice in a row to the Jazz. Also they have your best players (Yao) number. Going as far as tanking, praying, begging, etc is going too far for sure.
I respect the Jazz this year and think that their offense is quite amazing to watch! Oh well, I guess I'm a bigot!
