Grumble. I hate tennis scoring. Why can't they be normal like other sports? Anyway, if anyone can help me with these, I'd be most appreciative. Server has 4 points, receiver has 3. What is the official score? Is it "advantage in - 40" (with server = ad in, receiver = 40? ) Server has 4 points , receiver has 4. What is the official score? Is it deuce still? Server has 4 points, receiver has 5. What is the official score? Is it "40-ad out?" Server has 4 points, receiver has 6. What is official score? "Game receiver?"
It depends on what they are looking for. 1. Ad in is all I've ever called it or heard it called. I've never called it Ad in - 40. 2. On the other one it might be either deuce, or deuce #2. What you said, isn't incorrect. I'm just not sure what they want.
Oh no, I don't know either. I'm not quite sure what she wants myself. The next available chance I'd have before the test is to just ask her on tuesday, true. As for whether it's ad in or ad in - 40, I'll take your word for it that Ad in is probably what it should be . The deuce one, I am miffed on though. 3 points to 3 points (40-40) is deuce, but is 4 points to 4 points deuce too?
wtf, tennis class? Was basket weaving 101 all booked up? jk, I love tennis. One of my most favorite sports.
General Rules: You always call the server's score first, even if you're losing. Scoring is Love (0), 15, 30, 40, game, or if tied at 40, it's called "deuce". I've never seen anyone say "in" or "out" for scores, not even Dick Enberg on TV. Those are reserved for the lines judges. To prove my point about not saying "in" or "out", watch a scoring to a deuce game on TV. They never type "ad [in/out]" on the screen score. Now to answer... Server has 4 points, receiver has 3. What is the official score? Is it "advantage in - 40" (with server = ad in, receiver = 40? ) Ad [server's name] Server has 4 points , receiver has 4. What is the official score? Is it deuce still? deuce Server has 4 points, receiver has 5. What is the official score? Is it "40-ad out?" Ad [receiver's name] Server has 4 points, receiver has 6. What is official score? "Game receiver?" Game [receiver's name]
anyone in Southern California want to take my challenge? I'm a 3.5 player who just started playing again after a long hiatus.
The American education system is in a sad state when our young adults can't even keep score in sports without a special calculator. TI-83 Tennis 3000 Titanium
I'll play if you want. Is Burbank convenient for you to play? I know of a couple decent free courts there. E-mail me through the board, and let me know. It doesn't have to be Burbank, of course, just what I'm most familiar with.
