I don't think you should fight but you have to decide yourself if it is worth your reputation and health to fight or not.

Also don't expect any of the physical techniques you've read here to actually be usable for your fight. Brazilian Jujitsu (BJJ), Muy Thai, Jeet Kun Do (JKD) or any other martial art take a long time to be usable. BJJ takes lots of study to even execute even some of the basic moves and JKD takes years to even begin to understand. Therefore I'm not going to give you any tactics because not only is it impossible to just describe how they work over the internet and expect them to work but it would be irresponsible of me to tell you a technique that you're probably not going to be able to execute. If you really have to fight tomorrow you're better off just letting your survival instincts take over than trying to cram down any moves that you'll read here.

An actual fight isn't the same thing as boxing, martial art or even UFC match. You're not bound by rules and on an uncertain surface. Even the best fighter can slip on a wet spot in a bar and crack their skull on the edge of a table. You could train hard and defeat people in martial arts sparring yet lose in a real fight due to just plain bad luck.

That said there still is a way you could win without actually fighting. What a lot of people forget about fighting is that the psychological part is far more important than the phsyical. This means both you and your opponent's psychology. You need to consider a few things.

Fear - Fear is good because it keeps us out of trouble and motivates us but it is a bad thing when it masters our ability to react. If you don't get taken over by fear it becomes your asset.

Confidence - Belief in your ability to win is crucial to mastering your own fear and mental and physical reactions. At the same time removes your opponent's greatest weapon the ability to intimidate you.

Calmness - A fight is about the most demanding and crazy thing you can do but if you can calm yourself going into it you will not only master your own fear but also control the physical adrenaline driven stress reactions that can hamper your ability to respond.

Decisiveness - This is what gives you confidence and calmness by mentalling taking control of the situation. You will act when you need to.

If you can master these you will often find that you can beat someone before you actually have to fight because attacker psychology is about control and intimidation. If they can't intimidate you and they feel they can't control the situation they will often not want to fight. I've gotten out of a few fights just by getting into a stance and just looking at them to let them know I'm not afraid of them and will fight back. This isn't talking trash or chest thumping but the ability to calmy project the confidence that you will defend yourself. Of course what makes this work is that you've already committed yourself to fight if need be.

That's all the advice that I can give to you in this format and would ask you to think very hard twice before you fight.

it a very special rivalry. We will beat you in Euro 2004:D

i think a fight never solves anything, especially a planned fight. i almost never fought. i once fought when i was 12, but then i just lifted my opponent and threw him away (i'm 6'7).i didn't want to fight that kid, but he was always trying to irritate me so i would fight, i was a pasifist back then. so one day my teacher said i could hit him so that he would stop, so i did hit him the next time he tried to piss me of(remember i was 12). but i do not think a fight ever solves anything, i also do not think it is good for your rep. there are some fights you cannot get out of. especially when you are young, then the fights do not mean anything. but when you get older a fight can be very dangerous, if you are young alot of people do not know a way out of the fight. but when you are older you should be smarter. a fight only causes pain, and if you beat him he might come back with some friends to get "even" with you, don't risk is.

is the original poster still alive??
to bad he starts a thread that gets alot of response and he doens't even get to read it :(

Okay.....First walk up to him and act like you dont want anything to happen....then slap the **** out of him on the side of his head (thus causing a ringing sensation and embarrassment).....attack him right after wards kicking, punching, biting, etc...........if he continues to fight with you or noone breaks it up by this time, kick him in the juevos.

The fight was supposed to be on Monday, right? I doubt it's in the morning--who fights before lunch?--so they probably haven't even fought yet. This really has been an entertaining thread. Can't wait to hear what happened!

My prediction: they show up at the school parking lot, or whatever, and they're both wearing throwback Steve Francis jerseys. Despite their bitter hatred they share a knowing smile. They circle each other in their fighting stances but they can't help it. "We gonna win tonight?" the other dude says. "Hell yeah," Francis3422 says. And soon they're breaking down the chances of a Rockets upset and they're arm in arm, punching each other playfully on the shoulders, reminiscing over the time Francis dropped 44 on the Lakers. Then it turns into that scene in the Naked Gun where the dog hugs the mailman and there's peace in the Middle East and Yetti is high-fiving and chest-bumping Juugie.

My guess is the opponent launched a sneak attack before the agreed-upon date. How ruthless... but cunning... the kid probably never expected it. For all we know, he was reading this thread when *wham*. It's a tough world ... out on the playground.

Do the Rick James move. Nah but seriously you should avoid fighting it's a waste of time and energy and money if you have to pay a fine. If there is no other way around it make sure you have a few friends there because not everyone fights fair.

    I am Francis3422's smirking revenge.
    I am Francis3422's cold sweat.
I am Francis3422's raging bile duct.
    I am Francis3422's broken heart.
I am Francis3422's complete lack of surprise.

How much can you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?

BTW- Fight's over. I kicked his ass easily. What a puss.
