I suggest checking out Macy's every once in a while. There is always some sort of "red apple" type of sale going on, but usually i hit up the clearance section. If you are looking to impress, I would suggest going for a slim fit long sleeve shirt. Like others have said, Van Heusen makes a nice wrinkle free shirt and you can't go wrong with Express.
Ok everyone kept saying Van Heusen.. I'm gonna check this out.. I looked it up and it showed that they only have one in Katy Mills and up in the boonies at Conroe. Is there one near Downtown/UH area?
isnt van heusen kind of expensive? cant remember. when i went to get fitted for a suit for my senior photos in high school, remember the sales man getting me this cream colored van heusen shirt. i liked it a lot actually. though, how much are we talking for a collared shirt by them? need to get a couple myself
Under $30 bucks for shirts. Their quality sucks, in my opinion, but I don't have to wear dress shirts to work any more, so I can get by with poor quality.
what brand would you suggest? was thinking of getting a few nice shirts for coaching, usually wear a collared shirt, sometimes do the tie as well.
I recommended Alan Flusser from Stein Mart earlier in the thread, and I stand by that. The quality is second-to-none. For basics, Roundtree & York (Dillard's house brand) is also really good. Neither are very expensive.
I can't speak for the other two, but I recommended Zara because the fit is far and away better than any other store, and they usually have good sales (dress shirts for 30-40, trousers around 40). That may sound like a lot, but when you consider tailoring to make Old Navy and Wal-Mart shirts not fit like ****, the price comes out about even.
what do you expect for $20? But yeah, the quality isnt that great. I don't know if there is one near UH/downtown area, however i want to say that dillards (or someone) started to carry them...not sure though.
also might want to try LL bean or somewhere like that...i think they have dress shirts from $25-35. They are slightly more casual, but i think they'd work for your situation.
HAHA! That's awesome. But still no answer, eh? Maybe he was abused with tomatillios in some form or fashion as a child.
so, i have this co-worker who dresses in STRIPED polo shirts(not same color but always in stripes) every single day...sometimes, i have an urge to tell him that he should start wearing different shirts...should i just shut up or tell him? i don't want to offend him but if he wants a girlfriend then he needs to learn how to dress!
you mean just a regular polo shirt? vertical or horizontal stripes? i wouldnt tell him, he could get embarrassed. He will have to learn for himself. Although his next b-day, buy him a solid color.
yeah a regular polo shirt in horizontal stripes...i've seen him wearing a dress shirt when he has to go to our corporate office and he looks better!! i guess i should keep my mouth shut. i had been keeping it shut for almost a year and half...
was the dress shirt stripped too? probably one of those things that you just have to hold your tongue. It would be like me saying to the heavyset women in the office that insists on wearing tight black stretchy pants..."You know, you should probably not wear those pants all the time"
Nope, it was a solid color. LOL, I agree with you. Women would so get offended but would men get so offended? Back to topic, I LOVE men who dress in dress shirts and slacks...preferably from Express Men and stores like those.
BAH, tell him, he wont be to offended. if he is, prob only for a few minutes. its for his own good. help the brother out
are those two stores nationwide? i'm not in texas...i dont know of any stein marts or roundtree and yorks near me.
get "fitted" shirts if you can (not a fat ass) and remember, dont wear striped shirts with striped pants.
man, i didnt think i get nearly as much feedback as i have so far. i guess i am not alone... anyways thanks everyone.
