hmm i dont have a best buy rewards card yet, i do have a circuit city one from my previous tv purchase. i didnt know best buy matched online prices from websites. i will look into that. online sites have great prices but make it up in the delivery/shipping charges. warranties are killer sometimes because at times i know when i buy it i am not going to end up using it, but i know better than to trust my luck (which is pretty bad) to not get one on such a large purchase (at least for me). If the warranty was 300 and the bulb is around the same price it does pay for itself but the bulb lifetime from what i read ranges from 4-10k hours. I think at least for me the warranty would be worth it if it is like a 4 year deal for 300 or something. a 2 year warranty would not be worth it for me imo. i think i will probably go with that samsung 61 1080p dlp tv unless someone here knows of a better deal. I found an online site that was selling it for 2300...circuit city/best buy has the same price of 2879 right now
you see baiter? you may diss me on my thread, but you feel obligated as an ambassador of HDTV to explain to the consumers the ABCs of it! by the way, they have released the non-color wheel DLPs (they use LED)
dont feel wierd, you have a 62in HDTV and other people are jealous of you. you are like the Rockets when they won back-to-back. how the hell did u get that in your house, is my question.
wait, aren't you the hater then if you dissed me? who's the 12 year old baiter? im so glad that I envoke such emotion from you. my power is great! thanks for proving it.
getting the tv into my apt is going to be the big issue as well i live on the second floor and getting it while it is in the box shouldnt be too much of an issue since the dlps are not very deep (when compared to crts of course). probably have to use a dolly to slowly ride it up the stairs with two guys pushing and pulling. the weight isnt heavy (read ~110pounds) but it is bulky and i dont know if its like a crt where all the weight is in the front of the tv/monitor. if the weight is evenly distributed then i dont believe it would be a huge problem. a hassle yes but worth it
sweet, u can throw awesome HDTV Rocket Game parties. be proud! you have a YAO TV. People would be Wowed by the clarity of spendlor of your TV. those other suckers with small CRT TVs have Jeff Hornacek TVs.
haha i have a 30' hdtv right now a samsung slimfit crt tv which is a 1080i that i love and i cant picture watching anything in nonhd if a pd/hd signal is available i just moved in with my best friend who is going to by a hdtv himself for his room after he saw how the nfl looked on mine
probably get a ps3 but i do want a 360 right now but i wanted to see how much the external hd-dvd player for that is going to be. another wise it looks to be a ps3 right now is FSN southwest going to be airing rocket games in HD now?
well afaik all the games on espn/abc/tnt/nba tv are in hd so thats like 20 odd for sure games in hd during the reg season. i am getting league pass for the first time i dont know if they broadcast games in hd if possible, i may be able to get some more games that way not sure
In my apt! Best buy delivery baby. $50 I think, definitley worth it for me not to have to lift anything and potentially break it!
Just for kicks, I connected my computer to the Toshiba 46" DLP and played Quake 4 on it. It's crazy smooth.
see invisible, people like you make our economy, society and technology move forward. i too, have a Toshiba!
well this is total crap amazon has it for 2350 (samsung HL-S6187W) and free shipping but the local circuit city will not price match it. I would want to buy it direct from amazon but I was hoping to take advantage of circuit city's/best buy's no interest financing options they have for like 24 months or so. anyone have any ideas?
You need to find a first tier online retailer. Some small sites buy second grade merchandise then sell it cheaper. No way they will match that. Even if you find a first tier samsung certified online dealer with a cheaper price, then you gotta convince the BB manager to match it. They only match brick and mortar stores. I took me a little convincing, but it wasnt that hard once they knew I was serious. Even if they dont match it, they will negotiate. Thats better than buying something this expensive online. At least you can take it back and drop it on their front door if it turns out to be a POS!
It was amazon itself that had it for 2350, i figure amazon to be as legit as they come since I believe they are the largest online retailer in the world now. The problem was that the "employee price" for the tv was 2540 so it makes it harder for them to try to charge it. I am pretty sure in reality their actual price is probably 250-400 dollars cheaper. I am going to go try my luck at best buy today with and try the local big screen retailers here in the area and see what they can do with it
Sony 42" Grand Wega (KDF-42WE655) DLP Projection has been awesome. It's only 13" deep. Beautiful picture. Normally, not audible, but at lower listening levels late at night, the internal fan noise is the only drawback.
