Hey guys, I'm currently doing an assignment on the mechanics of a basketball free throw but wanted to give a general overview of the skill as well. I was trying to find some stats to highlight the importance of the free throw as well as the prevelence of the free throw. These are the stats im after if anyone knows a site/is able to help me out. (2009-2010 NBA stats) Average margin of victory per game Average amount of free throws taken per game Average amount of missed free throws per game Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers guys.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2010.html The "SRS" stat in the standings is the average point differential for each team. If you scroll down, it lists team stats and league average. The average team was 1,527 for 2,013 on free throws for the season which translates to 18.6 for 24.5 per game. If you take the average point differential for each team and add it up, it will inevitable equal zero. If you're just looking for margin of victory, you'll have to look at the splits for each individual team and figure out what the differential was in games that they won.
